Reading Other Forums 03:13 - Jul 2 with 5622 views | skippyjack | especially English ones.. wondering why English players can't perform for England.. like the English players playing for Wales.. It's simple.. James Chester - wasn't considered good enough for Man Utd.. shipped off to The Championship.. England ignored him.. Ashley Williams - wasn't considered good enough for West Brom.. climbed his way up from non-league Andy King - wasn't considered good enough for Chelsea..was a League One player David Edwards - played in non-league and worked his way up Jonny Williams - shipped out on loan.. not considered good enough for the Premier League Hal Robson-Kanu - wasn't considered good enough for Arsenal.. had to prove himself in the lower leagues.. not considered good enough for the top level Sam Vokes - started off in League One.. not considered good enough for the top level even the Welsh players.. Chris Gunter - not considered good enough for Spurs and the top level Neil Taylor - not considered good enough for Man City.. worked his way up from the conference Jazz Richards - not considered good enough for the top level David Cotterill - not considered good enough for the top level David Vaughan - had to prove himself in the lower leagues Chris Coleman - considered a failure, not good enough all the coaching team - considered not good enough then you move onto England.. Joe Hart - considered world class.. has 'not failed' Fraserburgh Forster - has 'not failed' Kyle Walker - has 'not failed' Danny Rose - has 'not failed' Gary Cahill - has 'not failed' Chris Smalling - has 'not failed' John Stones - has 'not failed' Nathaniel Clyne - has 'not failed' Ryan Bertrand - has 'not failed' James Milner - has 'not failed' Raheem Sterling - has 'not failed' Adam Lallana - has 'not failed' Jordan Henderson - has 'not failed' Eric Dier - has 'not failed' Jack Wilshere - has 'not failed' Ross Barkley - has 'not failed' Dele Alli - has 'not failed' Harry Kane - he has failed at Arsenal.. but Spurs have masked his feelings Marcus Rashford - has 'not failed' Daniel Sturridge - has 'not failed' Jamie Vardy - the only 'true' failure.. He knows what it really feels like to be on the scrapheap of football.. he's the only person in the team who knows what 'real life' and 'real pressure' is.. They should've taken advice off him.. He would've said 'I will go onto that pitch and given my life'.. because he understands.. England have had players of the failing ilk.. Stuart Pearce - he failed Chris Waddle - he failed Peter Beardsley - he failed John Barnes - knows what it feels like David Platt - he failed David Seaman - he failed Dave Beasant - he knows what it feels like Ian Wright - he failed Teddy Sheringham - he understands Les Ferdinand - he understands Stan Collymore Kevin Phillips Kerry Dixon Alan Pardew Danny Drinkwater - home Charlie Austin - home Danny Simpson - home Ryan Shawcross - home Dan Gosling - home Marc Pugh - home Charlie Daniels - home Tyrone Mings - home Junior Stanislas - home Glenn Murray - home Scott Dann - home Frazier Campbell - home Troy Deeney - home Ben Foster - home Callum McManaman - home Craig Dawson - home Michail Antonio - home Aaron Cresswell - home The England national team have not felt 'true' failure.. as Chris Coleman said.. they're not afraid to fail.. because they know it, breath it, feel it.. They know the consequences, experience and learning through failure.. The best bet is.. send the lot of them to the conference and earn £200 a week.. they'll understand 'real life' then.. The English lot are in a bubble. [Post edited 2 Jul 2016 3:45]

A bunch of c*nts who think that 5 good games equates to a new bumper contract. They seem to be suffering from what I call 'Adebayor syndrome'

Reading Other Forums on 09:04 - Jul 2 with 3836 views | SwaneeRiver | It's not just England. Lots of other teams have much better players than us both are either out or didn't even make it. We are playing as a team, managed by a guy who has got it all together at the right time and got everyone in the squad believing. Teams like England and Belgium have talent in abundance and should hammer us, but don't have the same team spirit

I think the fact that Bale turns up and obviously cares deeply matters too. Puts Giggs' w*nky attitude into focus. When it matters to someone like Bale then the rest will be energised. They believe in what they are doing and each other. England don't. [Post edited 2 Jul 2016 10:31]

A lesson Woy Hodgson could do with learning. Building a team around a busted Wayne Rooney or picking Wilshere after less than two full games over the season. More obsessed with names rather than the team.

Its shocking that some of the Leicester players were not there. Drinkwater and Wes Morgan should have been starters.

I think Wes Morgan being a Jamaican international might have affected Woy's thinking there. Drinkwater should have been in there though.

This. A team that virtually picks itself. I hope that whoever replaces Ramsey and Ben have absolute stormers against Portugal. They won't fancy us so much after last night. Coaches are probably sh*ting themselves after preparing the groundwork for Belgium in the semis....... [Post edited 2 Jul 2016 11:04]

You're not going to change a dinosaur Doc. Fact of the matter is the twät couldn't be trusted to run a bath. Four years ago I still can't get over the fact that he didn't take Britts or Dyer. Then again, the clueless cūnt wouldn't know how to utilise them. [Post edited 2 Jul 2016 17:02]

I'd disagree there, they've only lost a small handful of games in the last few years (Most of them to us) and they've only not been able to score against 3 teams (us twice). They are clearly a very very good team, we are just better.

Reading Other Forums on 16:28 - Jul 2 with 3166 views | jasper_T | I don't think there's as much difference in the quality of our players compared to some of the more famous nations as people think. Managers like Mourinho often say that on a technical level there's very little between players throughout top leagues (the Championship is one of the richest leagues in the world, so it counts). Many of our players lack the media hype to be superstars, but that doesn't mean that they are there to be outclassed. Football is a team game, and the small margins in player skill that separate clubs over seasons aren't as significant at national, knockout level, where the level of coaching and preparation is generally worse (due to lack of time, cheaper appointments etc.) ITV & the BBC's fawning over individuals (Ronaldo especially) has come off as increasingly pathetic, and despite their insistence no team is being dragged through by the efforts of one player. Bale hasn't even been that good (yet)! Iceland, Hungary, us etc. have proven in this tournament that just because a player isn't in the Champion's League doesn't mean they can't compete and win games at this level.
Reading Other Forums on 16:51 - Jul 2 with 3133 views | jack247 | The reasons England failed were the inability of their coaching staff to find a way of playing that got the best out of every player and because they had no way of coping with teams that came to keep them out and hit on the break. They did well against stellar teams in their warm up games with a quick counter-attacking style. That's all well and good when teams are committing men forward. It wasn't because their players are comparatively successful in domestic leagues and don't know the pain of failing.
Reading Other Forums on 16:53 - Jul 2 with 3125 views | Wingstandwood | England don't perform because they are a mish-mash of individuals instead of a team. A disconnected collective stuffed full of pampered individuals whom believe their own individual hype of which some will even go to lengths to feed that very hype themselves, or at the very least be very happy to go along with it all. I've seen it with the likes of Keegan, Beckham and Rooney etc. Bale is miles better than any of them. Bale is an absolute credit because in his own mind its not all about him. He seems to recognise the importance of a collective unit with a 'one for all and all for one' approach. England used to under-perform even during the pre-foreign player influx era when European Cups were being won year in year out. Never played with team potential! [Post edited 2 Jul 2016 16:56]

I think it's hit the buffers for England post Euro 96. They had a half decent side then but no near their Italia 90 team. That team had a likeability about it and had they beaten the Germans on penalties may very well have won the World cup against a rubbish Argentinean side. Now England's players seem to be rated by how much they earn. And that is just so false. Roy picking big names ut of form and out of position hasn't helped. And Raheem Stirling - not good enough.

When they were knocked out of Euro 2000, German football was in a terrible mess. They stepped back and revamped the game top to bottom which is something that the English system could take the opportunity to do if there was any form of appetite from them to do it However with the way the Premier League works at the moment there won't be that appetite and their international team will remain one of the outsiders at the top table of world football The German story is a remarkable one https://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/may/23/germany-bust-boom-talent http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/22628302 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup-2014/germanys-7-1-brazil-thrash
Reading Other Forums on 21:30 - Jul 2 with 2770 views | SE1_Jack | I agree with the sentiment in this thread and Wales' performance is a shining and logical example of it. 9 of the 23 are English and everybody apart from two of them play in the English system. Therefore the argument that England are suffering nationally due to the premier league being dominated by foreign owners, managers and players is rubbish. Wales, with English or English based players have shown that success nationally is due to effective coaching, continuity and a team spirit.

Clearly Bale is a huge part of the Wales story. He gives the team that real belief, plus his own world class contribution. Viva Gareth Bale.
