Congratulations to Karl 17:49 - Nov 28 with 6331 views | distortR | Don't know if he'll thank me for this, But Karl has been appointed manager of Orkney's international team, well done mate! Isle of Man v Orkney in the island games, Karl v Bass, I'll be wearing tartan!!
Congratulations to Karl on 09:17 - Nov 29 with 1626 views | karl | Unfortunately i do have 'Redknapp knee' and if a poor run of results deserves it then i will have to pull that joker and make my excuses! I snapped my right knee anterior cruciate ligament 12 years ago and have a major tear in the other, have been told a replacement knee in my 50's is likely (i'm 49 now!) is there anyone who played regular football for a long period who doesnt have knee problems? Everyone i speak to of my age about their playing days and the chat is 'miniscus, cartilage, ligaments' etc, the old dudes when i was younger never seemed to have the same list?

Using the word 'snap' in relation to Karl's cruciates may not be the most sensitive option - good luck with your op though, Brian. With Orkney's financial woes, i fear that the shores of those islands will be turned into a winkle-free desert!

Thanks, man. 'Wear and tear', they said. Which is code for 'old carcass'. I blame it on all those times I had to cover for you when we played centre-back together.

So me and Brian are kindred spirits, surely no one else has had to cover for the 'Manx Caesar'? (we all know which Caesar i mean). Good luck with the knee Brian. I'm praying Chris Bass will give you a call up Distort, if we do play the IOM of course. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

You must have one persuasive smile Karl! I'm off to put a fiver on you being next QPR manager just so we can see you at 100-1 in the BetFair stakes. Will the games be streamed?! Good Luck and keep us posted...

In terms of funding, may I make the following suggestion: between you/us etc. why can't we try arrange a friendly between QPR and your lot? Altogether Rfosi" "In your Orkney slums, you look in the dustbin for something to eat, you find a dead puffin and think its a treat!" Forza Orkney!!

I bid you Good Luck as well Brian. What exactly is the op?! It's now over 6 months since I did my ACL. Had the op the following month and despite physio and now 2 months of gym I'm probably still at least 4 months of gym away from returning to pre ACL mobility and strength.

Thanks man, Mine's only the meniscus. They're not sure if they can repair until they open it up, but worst case scenario is removal and clean-up and see how long it lasts before the inevitable knee op. I'm 45 and I've done a lot of sports and activities so this is the least that was coming my way. Hope your recovery goes ok.

Jesus, thanks to DistortR for this! I was hoping to sneak through to the first games and report on glorious victories whilst obviously saying nothing if we had dismal defeats. My cover is blown and embarrassment may well ensue, i know your mind Gus!

Just make sure you have a bloody good preseason, that you play the players in their correct positions and that you win every game playing the free flowing football that the Orkneers are best known for.

Brilliant mate, i'm in Stromness so not far away. PM me if you fancy meeting up etc. First game is going to be possibly June, this i not the 'Orkney FC' team who compete through the winter but the 'County' team which is representative of the 16 clubs who play in our traditional summer league, I could do without Ramsey style booing if that's what you had in mind though! I've met three LFW er's in Orkney so keep an eye on here and we might raise a posse in Orkney yet!
