Knowing what we know about those two managers it was probably more about what % cut they got in their pocket out of the move |

Les got loads of shit from fans when he was first playing. Then once he was in the squad and doing well, getting England call ups everytime a transfer offer came in the manager would threaten to quit if we sold Les. I can probably see where he is coming from to be fair |

£33 per day for me to commute the 19 miles into town now. It's actually cheaper for me to drive and park, Kahn hasn't got a clue |

I met LC when he came to Mums work at Charing X hospital. He was a very nice guy, and I think anyone at the top of anything in life (the 1%'ers) have something about them to maintain that drive to be the best. 100% LC would have been using supplements, like every other athlete in the world. But, for my money, I don't think he's ever knowingly cheated with performance enhancing drugs. By you're friends logic Cristiano Ronaldo must be bang at it as well, he's got hardly any body fat into his late 30's... That book I recommended was great, I might read it again now. I'm sure it went into detail about how something that was allowed one year wasn't the next and the testers were always a bit behind everything |

Is the whole "build 'em up to knock 'em down" culture in the press only typical in Britain? I grew up watching Linford and it was horrible to watch him torn down in public. There is a great book about this era of sprinting. https://amzn.eu/d/0gOw6JDI |

Was it ever announced what the punishment was for Joey Bartons various escapades were? I guess the Man City game was just treated like a normal red card and some money went into the end of year party fund? |

The Fak bros going to see Claire at work to basically say "my friend fancies you" It's more like Hollyoaks than anything good. Then they get carried away about a plasterboard wall, or a sprinkler test, or putting too much salt in something. They get some bits right, like that 'forks' episode, and then other bits are so far off it destroys the illusion of watching the show |

Struggled through 'The Bear' Its probably been the most annoying TV series I've watched in years. Like most products for streaming it looks good and has obviously had money thrown at it, but... The characters are so unlikeable, the situations are not realistic and I'm not actually sure that most of the characters are acting. People on the internet talking like its the best TV show ever. --It's not Hill Street Blues by any stretch |

Let him go for any fee, but make sure we get a sell on. Then if he ever did take off at least we might get something back. However, I can't see him winning young player of the year at QPR again after scoring less than five goals in a full season. What a shame though, as he looked like he might have been the next Les Ferdinand, and while we still had Sir Les at the club to 1:1 coach him... :( |

We've had a few EV's in the household now. Would recommend them to most people. We are also lucky enough to have solar, so can charge at home for free, or pennies. Only problem I've had over the years was with the car battery on the i3, which was the small battery to work the lights and radio. Otherwise its been problem free. Infrastructure is getting better and the number of suppliers for chargers has seemed to settle down now, although I have about seven different apps on my phone for connecting to chargers. The best analogy I can find is if you are the type of driver who got nervous when the petrol light came on, maybe EV isn't for you! |

I love James Ellroys books, maybe American Tabloid is a good one to start on? Hard work, but rewarding to read |

It was Pitch TV with the contract for iFollow, they didn't have a gallery in an OB van, I think that was all done back at base, so the production costs for that wouldn't have been that bad. I think if SKY can get rid of the satellite costs then that saves a lot of money, but I reckon after the initial novelty factor has worn off there will be very small audiences watching two lower mid table EFL clubs. Something that might work could be a studio show where they jump in and out of the games, like Soccer Saturday, but this would be a curated feed and showing the footage. The US do this all the time for "March Madness" when they have lots of simultaneous games on and choose to 'feed' their viewers, rather than let them hop around to find the action |

I think that train left the station a while back. All TV companies are changing the way that television is distributed. You can watch the Euros in UHD on the iPlayer, thats not cost efficient to enable over digital terrestrial television. If you are a smaller broadcaster thats not bound by public service broadcasting you can use OTT services and stream a linear channel now, a lot of smart tv's will still create an EPG, so the average viewer doesn't realise they are watching an ip stream, rather than traditional broadcast. Depending where you want to go on the EPG Freeview can be £8m a year, why wouldn't you distribute over ip. SKY sell the SKY Q, so you can watch without a satellite receiver, to reduce their cost. Within 5 years most houses won't have an aerial or dish to watch content. I think Comcast are firmly in this for the long haul. Whether they paid too much for the rights, like iTV, Setanta, ESPN and BT all did only time will tell! |
