I came from Norfolk too that day , think i got a train from Bury st edmunds & met some R's on there from Felixstowe/Ipswich who i still see from time to time at Rangers.
I had a pie which was cooked to around 1000 degrees celcius & burnt my mouth . If memory serves me it was only -4/-5 degrees that day but the wind probably added another -10 c to that .
Another vote for this game Forest away feb 1st 1986 crowd was 11,538 & the majority of R's were seated in the lower tier of Brian Clough stand rather than on the open terrace , it was bloody Baltic that day .
From London Euston 0946 single to Nuneaton 30 mins there then another single ticket Nuneaton to Leicester @1124 arrives 11.51 2hrs 5 mins total outward . Coming home is quicker Leicester to st Pancras international 17.04 back in London 18.09 currently coming up as £45.50 on Trainsplit website , hope this is of use to you .
Correct the club can ask for 15% but in the FA cup then have to pay for any unsold tickets over the 10% but Rangers have asked & got 15% for this game which is around 4839 of Foxes capacity , 5131 is possible based on the Brum game & would be more than 15% of 32261 . Terrible communication from QPR again though as Leicester announced prices & started selling last friday whereas with Rangers it's still a secret when fans would really like to be booking travel/accomodation etc
It looks as though it will be either £10 or £15 for the cup match as the Foxes are charging their season ticket holders 10 & general sale 15 , they are also currently saying that Rangers have taken the full allocation so either 3000 or around 4500 .
Norwich is on dec 29th rather than new years day , but apart from that i agree with everything you have said Terry . These are 12 carraige trains & after around 0930 they are running every 30 mins so in the unlikely event of 1 train being cancelled there would be options. Spoke to a friend who works for greater anglia & he reckons there will be more than enough cover for drivers etc as there are no early services to cover that day thus reducing the total number of trains to staff . We have had very few cancelled services on this line at short notice & i will be trusting it to get me the 16 minutes from Diss on dec 29, see you all there .
Yes i use this line to come to Rangers from Norfolk , should be all good for the Norwich away game . As you say service starts from Stratford that day went home from Stratford station after wednesdays game & it was fine , look at 2 singles to maybe be cheaper than a day return .
I had read this the same as you but on 2nd reading it says games will be selected by nov 1st but then announced later this month . So they know the TV fixtures but will not tell us yet . As you say not very helpful to anyone wanting to book travel/accomodation .
Not to Addinall of this board , he is in his 88th year & coming to his first game in nearly 2 years on tuesday all the way from North Norfolk . Good luck to all the underground staff , strange how when some rich sod hives a few million off to an offshore acount to avoid paying tax or just plain leaes the country for a tax haven they are generally considered clever but some hard working transport staff want paying properly or better working conditions they are branded as greedy .
Played Trevor & his son Craig around 2000 in a mens doubles tennis tournament at Alburgh in Suffolk & despite him then being 50 he still had an amazing leap into the air for smashes/overhead shots. Really nice guy as well as being a superb footballer.
