My feeling is that the teams of Cymru (Our national football team is quite rightly called Cymru now) should and eventually will play exclusively in Cymru. The anomalies of the United Kingdom aren't just present in football, but they'll be sorted out when we all realise that it's perfectly normal for countries, all countries, to be independent. A Cymru league with Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Wrexham wouldn't be the most amazing league in the world, obviously, the best players from this side of the border would go to play in England, but I think it could be competitive and fun... we might even persuade the mighty Merthyr to start playing their football exclusively in Cymru again. There's an interesting parallel here with cricket. I was reading quite recently that the main reason Cymru doesn't have a national cricket set-up like Scotland and Ireland, with test ambitions, is because of Glamorgan CC... they'd obviously lose out if they couldn't play in England. I don't know how true this is, but it would explain why Cymru, which has quite a good cricket heritage doesn't have a relatively high profile national cricket team. [Post edited 14 Jan 19:03]

Spare a thought for the man whose only match so far this season was Swansea! 🤣 Had a weird thing just happen: went to check the table on my phone and didn't have to scroll down to see QPR... Anyway, I'll take us beating Luton as an anniversary present - met my partner 30 years ago tonight! [Post edited 6 Jan 22:11]

Given what I watched at the Liberty on Boxing Day I reckon a point at Carrow Road, however ugly, is a bloody good stop-the-rot result. |

That boy is so slow. I'm not sure it's even possible to break a sweat moving at that pace. [Post edited 29 Dec 2024 14:13]

I did, thanks, mate. It wasn't the game we hoped for, but I'd prepared my boy with the not-since-1967 stat, and we were there for the win last season. Also, our support was great. No complaints. No regrets. |

Paal not being well does make a lot of sense. He looked out of it. |

Well, erm, in no particular order. 1. Chair looked energetic when he came on. 2. If we'd scored in that little spell at the start of the second half, well..it would have been better. 3. Paul Smyth was industrious. 4. I felt like we tried after halftime. Nice to see a match in the company of enthusiastic RRs fans! A treat for me even with the result. Hope everyone gets home safely - there was a lot of fog when we left Swansea. |

Second half was a different game. The first half was jaw droppingly one-sided. I'm not sure there was either a tackle or a completed pass until after halftime. Does that lad Madsen have a second gear? |

And to my local game as well! Christmas preparations and dashing about. If anyone suddenly can't travel then me and my boy would definitely take a couple of tickets going spare.. not even sure how or if that could work. Silly me. Merry Christmas all U RRRs! (Nadolig llawen down this way.) |

Just having a glance at the table, I don't see how we can possibly win today - 3 points could propel us into a ridiculously high position. Not allowed for Christmas, surely. A draw and a continuation of our unbeaten run would seem like a reasonably modest addition to the Christmas prezzie list. |

It seems from a footballing spectacle perspective I made the right decision not to come to England to see that today...but it's always lovely to come away from a game with a scraped draw out of nowhere. The unbeaten run continues! Come on you RRRs! [Post edited 14 Dec 2024 14:26]
