Unfortunately human rights lawyers prevent quick decisions. Even foriegn criminals convicted of serious crimes can't be deported to their countries. All this paid for by legal aid and tax payers having to put then in expensive hotels. |

Seems Londoners did not object to a much bigger project that caused far more disruption. The east- west Elizabeth line much longer than the old oak common the Euston link. |

Any evidence we are all poorer because of Brexit or is that just your opinion. I suspect everyone in the EU has become poorer in the last 5 years, because of covid debts, energy crisis causesd by the Russian invasion of Ukraine . Unemployment higher in EU than UK, stagnant growth in EU, Germany in recession. |

Amazing Trump has achieved more in one day than Starmer has achieved in six months. All Starmer has done is promised changes and improvements, after all areas of government will have reviews lasting months or even years. Rachel has of course killed all business growth with her £30 billion tax raid on business from April. |
| Forum Reply | Who is responsible for the Brexit fiasco? at 09:29 21 Jan 2025
It is called democracy something unheard of by the thick people in Russia. In 2024 150,000 Russian soldiers have died in Putin's undemocratic war. In the UK the majority of people voted to leave the undemocratic EU after listening to the case put forward by both the leavers and remainers. The EU is in a worst state than the UK with higher unemployment and a debt and immigration crisis. The UK share of the EU budget in 2023 would have been €24 billion and even more in 2024 and 2025 as the UK GDP has overtaken France and has grew faster than Germany in 2024. |

A great idea to leave an undemocratic EU This year alone the UK will save €24 billion which would have been the Uk's share of the EU budget. Still some people cannot accept a democratic decision. The EU is failing, Germany in recession, EU unemployment higher than the UK . |

Tax on company profits is collected centrally and is distributed nationwide. They proportion going to Wales is decided under the Barnett formula with Wales getting proportional more than England. It is just like VAT, NI, Income tax fuel duty, road tax all collected centrally. The more tax collected the more the government spend the more Wales gets. |
| Forum Reply | Spain at 09:46 14 Jan 2025
Not sure why you have changed to topic onto Brexit. Spain did not vote for Brexit and is still in the EU. The measures Spain are taking are a result of the EU's mass immigration policy and freedom of movement within the EU. |
| Forum Reply | Spain at 09:39 14 Jan 2025
Spain are not proposing to double the tax for Spanish citizens unlike the Welsh government plans to tax British citizens. |

Why is a brand new modern dual carriageway limited to 50mph when you could do 60mph on parts of the dangerous single carriageway it replaced.? |

Germany has no gas fields of it's own and has to import all its gas. Their import infrastructure is not large enough to import all their Autumn and Winter gas needs. They have to import it during Spring and Summer when demand is low and store it until Winter when demand exceeds what they can import via their infrastructure. The storage facilities are very expensive to run and maintain. The UK by comparison is directly connected to the North Sea and imports most of its gas supplies from either the UK gas fields or the Norwegian gas fields via pipeline. The rest of the UK gas supplies comes from LNG from gulf states and USA. LNG is both expensive to ship and store. |

Correct labour banned the building of any new nuclear power stations in 1997. The Conservatives reversed this decision in 2010. It can take up to 20 years to go through through planning process and public enquiries and then build them . Hinckley point C currently under construction, which of course was delayed by covoid. Work on Sizewell C has also started. |

No sure where you get the idea that Ni is not a huge increase. It is an increase if £25 billion The lower threshold is decreasing by £4200 which means an increase of £638 per employee plus a 1.2% increase NI rate. If an employer pays an employee £20000 a year that is a huge increase of nearly £800 per employee per year. |
