Someone suggested doing a AI summary of this thread. Anyone willing to oblige? It would be interesting to see one.

Good to see Nourry giving us that update, but I still want to see player contract details published.

Vale signs
at 12:49 4 Feb 2025

I wonder where Marti will deploy Vale next season? LB, LM or ACM? Will he take the place of Paal, Saito, Anderson or someone else? If it's an attacking position on the left, does that mean Saito won't be signed on a perm?

As he's injured I'd imagine it's difficult for Marti to see how Vale fits in with the squad.

He was excellent for the DS v Colchester U18s last week. A very good addition to our youngsters.

New Year transfer window rumours

This has been a strange January transfer window for us. We were quick out of the blocks - unusual in itself - with a CB on loan from Soton. Then nothing until the last few days when we get another loan - a Spuds lad who's just arrived from South Korea. In the last minutes of the window we have a young Brazilian that Barca wanted, and a player from North Battersea, who is crocked for the rest of the season and who last season was managed by the most hated ex-R in the history of our club.

Can a player, in this case Dunne, ever have the option of a +1 year in a contract? In theory, I guess he can but it seems improbable that any employer would accept such a condition. As The Chef posted in the other thread, a player could be absolutely crap, take the option of an extra year and continue to be crap.

Should Dunne still be with us after 11pm tonight, QPR fans must be understanding of his situation and not boo him when he next plays.

Cook and Colback's contracts were both to 2025 with an option for a further year. It was lassel who said the further year option was on the players' side. I agree with derby that the option will be on the club's side and I don't think an option on the player's side is even a thing.

Agree with you on Cook staying and Colback going.

And Vale transfer 'expected' but no interest yet shown in EDB.

This feels weird and unnerving, like a Paladini transfer.

Thirded. I thought Edwards did okay at RB too, plus I'm sure he'd improve if he plays there more. He's preferable to Ashby in any case.

Chair seemed to have more of a free role today. He played right across the front positions. He's still nowhere near his usual level.

Others underperformed too. Cook was very rusty, Fox was full of mistakes, Field was below par and, despite a lovely weighted ball for Lloyd's goal, Morgan made a lot of errors.

Millwall looked like giants compared to our players, and bullied us without much intervention from the ref. The lack of height in the team worries me at times.

Feels like a tough game just got a bit tougher. It'll be interesting to see how we deal with it today.

Is it me or has London Pride - the ale that is - gone to sht? I had a bottle of it the other day and I'm drinking a draught pint just now and it seems a pale and insipid copy of what it once was.

Damn you Asahi.

The Harvey Vale signing looks to be on, and it's a canny one. He can play LB, LM, and ACM, so he plays in several positions where cover is needed. Paal and Morgan in particular will need resting at times. Vale could well become a first pick.
