Benefits should be for those who really need them. The welfare state was never intended to be a way of life.
If a pensioner doesn't need the heating allowance they shouldn't get it. |

When a household has 2 adults working full time and they still cannot manage something is very wrong.
Back in the 60's and 70's it was typical that the man worked and the woman may work part time and people managed, these days we are all supoosed to be better off but very many are worse off.
There again I see places where young people live alone in a flat and are drinking alcohol at 10am, not working, smoking weed (by the smell of it) and just wander around. There's a place in Glynneath were there's several like that. |

When Reeves talked about the 22 billion overspend it was nice of her to leave out that half of that overspend is because of the pay rises they are offering.
It's the kind of tactic we'd expet from the tories, well when I say tactic its little more than a lie.
And people think Labour will save them, hardly any time at all in power and already we are looking at cuts, rising prices, pension grabs and lies.
For the first time in a long time I did not voteand now I'm thinking only the mugs voted, shame we didn't have a "none of the above" box on the ballot. |

How about both?
If the cap really is 7k then we won't even get a decent league 1 player. They may not be earning 7k pw right now but to make the step up they will ask for and most certainly be offered more elsewhere.
In plain terms we will have a squad of poorer quality and less quantity than last season and we saw how did then. Expect a relegation battle then guys. |

And what if Cooper had played him more and he started scoring regularly, what do you think would have happened then?
He wouldn't have stayed here, we wouldn't have bought him, it's possible they'd have recalled him then too and sent him to a higher placed team OR sold him for a good sum.
He was never our player whichever way it went and never would have been.

Yes but put all thes threads together.
The ay rises, the proposed pension tax, the care homes fees, winter fuel.....they are sayingthere won't be any increase in workingtax but we will end up paying more. it'll be by so called stealth taxes, our take home pay won't drop BUt we will end up paying even more than we do now, elsewhere.
Maybe Labour willimprove things but nyon epecting that we will be better off in our wallets or tat we won't pay more is sadly mistaken. |

They may not be importing for very long though, there is likley to be more poitical instability, more sanctions andthere's a prediction of more mass emigration from there as people flee a trobled country with a dodgy regime. |

She said 1.4 billion.
So if it's being withdrawn from people not getting benefits then higher rate tax payers won't get it either. There will no doubt be a few just above the line who won't be happy but the line has to be drawn somewhere. |

I had a similar experience just outside Paris at an outdoor food market, I asked for help in my GCSE French and when I asked if she spoke English she gave me a hand signal and walked away, others behaved in a similar manner and wouldn't listen to me trying to say "Je suis au Pays De Galles"
But as we travelled firther South the natives became very much friendlier. Nice, Cannes and Mnaco were outstanding. |

40k out of 5 million, not that large a number. There is an argument for destroying the nation though. She's promising to do it differently but it needs to be a lot better too, not just different.
As you say, cut out the vanity projects, the eco stuff that we can't afford and is killing the economy. Make the country more succesful then spend the income on the eco stuff. When we are broke and our essential services are in dire need of improving the last thing we need is more moeny taken out of the budget for more MS wages. |

I think that to be competitive across the season we need 8 or 9 but we won't get them, right now we need 3 more for a decent first eleven, our bench would still be poor and backup non existent.
The owners either won't spend or haven't got the money needed. Don't expect miracles though none of us would turn a few Angel Rangel type of miracle down. [Post edited 28 Jul 13:59]

Sounds like just the place I'd like to visit. Lots to see, no drunken arses and deent weather. And if you've seen everything there's always the 90 minute train trip to Seville where there is also lots to see. |

Not me, we need more than a decent striker to be competitive across the season. At the very least we need a decent first elelven and bench and a few reasonable squad players as back up.
We are several players short of that, well 8 or 9 really. We could bring in a properly good striker but we still need cover for him because any illness, injury or suspension and we'd be back to Cullen. we need 2 decent centre backs and at least 2 CM's, cover at full back and a utility player maybe.
It all just shows how poor recruitment has been the last 3 years. |

A new striker is a must because Cullen just isn't fit to lead the line. he works hard, he tries very hard but he's just not good enough.
Cullen might be useful played off a decent striker but up front alone, we may as well rely on a 6ft concrete statue of Latchford. |

I don't know that Williams was the wrong choice yet but if we aren't doing much better by Christmas then I will probably agree.
He had a chunk of last season to see what we needed and make a start. Nw he's had a full pre season and the transfer window to get what he needs, maybe some of what he wants too, time will tell.
I still say that we NEED a deent striker, maybe 2, another decent CB and a CM because Allen isnt likely to stay fit enough to play in most of our games, or even most of any game he does play in.
I don't see the owners spending that much because to be honest, we don't have it to spend. |

A lot of people, myself included would agree with you there. The vociferous minority will see it never happens though.
The welfare state should only be for people who have paid into it, any immigrant should have to find work, any illegal immigrant should be sent back, genuine asylum seekers and refugees, that's a large can of worms that nobody seems to agree on. |
