Welsh clubs having their cake and eating it
at 12:21 14 Jan 2025

I have no problem with Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham, Newport etc playing in the EFL/EPL but when in that affiliation, that's it, you play the same competitions as everyone else in the same affiliation.

What next... Shrewsbury, Hereford or even Bristol City/Rovers wanting to join too on the basis that if the Welsh clubs can competing in the EFL/PL they should be able to compete in the Welsh Cup?

Carlisle might ask to participate in the Scottish League & SFA Cup?

Where does it end?

As said, I thought all this was put to bed years ago, not sure who/why it's now deemed a possibility again.

“ Scapegoating is the act of unfairly blaming someone or a group for problems, and then treating them negatively”.

Nope, none of that going on here, quite the opposite. You are, as always, the architect of your own problems.
Over to you for the last word as i know you’ll want to. Night.

Another poll (after your post match poll) wasn’t needed though.

“Quite a number of people have voted” - 37 votes is hardly an earth shattering amount of data capture or an accurate reflection of the spectrum of the entire fan base. You should be in Marketing.

There’s enough comments on the match tread and various ‘just back’ type of messages to garner the same result, which people are capable of drawing their own conclusions from without the need of a poll, and there wasn’t a ‘wide spectrum of answers’ as most of the options available steered towards your own narrative.
You really do contradict yourself at times. What part of that are you not receiving?

I thought that it was finally established a while back that if the play in the EFL/PL that they relinquished affiliation to the Welsh FA (or whatever it was all about). How can it now change back, one or the other surely and as said, if they choose this route then they can no longer participate in the FA and League Cups…… or, we’re all allowed to join in the Welsh Cup too.

I avoided including a location as I was moving every couple of years at the time until I settled when I bought my flat.
A friend of a girl I worked with called me Juzzie and it just kinda stuck.

Most people tend to move outwards so moving inwards is an interesting move. Good luck, hope it all goes well. BTW - trivial bit of info….. Pimlico is the only station on the Victoria line that doesn’t interchange with another line/rail link.

oh come on......

Sorry, but it's not 'an interesting question'. You clearly have a dislike of the guy, which is fine, but are trying all you can to get everyone to feel the same way. it's obvious, repetitive & tedious.

Conversely, don't tell (not you BTW, I'm generalising here) those who are not angry that they should be or at least can't understand why they are not.

Seen a lot of comments (not just this game but many others over time) where people can't believe that others aren't angry, it works both ways.

For my tuppence worth I've become a bit meh about the result. Not happy, of course, but trying to muster the energy to become all angry about a 'sport' that has been going down the pan for years is difficult.
Maybe if I'd been at the game I might feel different but that's why people can't be telling others or not understanding why others feel a different way to themselves, everyones situation & experience of the game is different.

Once I saw both team sheets I thought "oh well". Then at 1-1 I thought "oooh, hang on" then when I checked again not long after it was "3-1" and that was that. It seemed a really bizarre game and a rare occurrence where one team had 6 shots on target and they all went in.

I agree entirely with the whole premise of respecting the FA Cup but football is a mahoosive business these days and everything that goes with that has to be taken on board by the clubs. It's why they have reams of people employed with all sorts of data analytics etc. It's why VAR is such a mess, they are schit sacred of goals being given that shouldn't have it's almost better to wrongly not give a goal than wrongly give a goal.

I think that needs editing due to duplication!

Wigan were a PL team when they won it. They became the first team to win the FA Cup and get relegated from the top flight in the same season.

Last side to win it from outside the top flight was West Ham in 1980.

I've gone back the last 10 years and here are the last 10 FA Cup 3rd round games we've played plus the following League game (apart from Plymouth).

Doesn't really make for good reading, irrespective of who the Manager has been.

In 10 FA Cup 3rd round games we've won just 2 despite 7 of them being at home.
Irrespective of the results of 9 of the FA Cup games, we've won just 3 of our following League game.

What can we draw from this?
1) we are utterly crap in the FA Cup
2) our following League game seems to be just as bad so any notion of resting players (if that is what was done) didn't work..... so what was the point???!

2015 - Sheff Utd (h) Lost, next League game; Burnley (a) Lost
2016 - Forest (a) Lost, next League game; Blackburn (a) Drew
2017 - Blackburn (h) Lost, next League game; Reading (a) Won
2018 - MK Dons (h) Lost (MK fkin Dons!), next League game; Burton Albion (a) Won
2019 - Leeds (h) Won, next League game; Sheff Utd (a) Lost
2020 - Swansea (h) Won, next League game; Brentford (a) Lost
2021 - Fulham (h) Lost (aet), next League game; Luton (a) Won
2022 - Peterborough (a) Lost, next League game; Middlesbrough (h) Drew
2023 - Fleetwood (a) Lost, next League game; Reading (a) Drew
2024 - Bournemouth (h) Lost, next League game; Watford (h) Lost
2025 - Leicester (a) Lost, next League game; Plymouth (a) - ?

Maybe our LA friends can advise but I guess this must be down to cutbacks and mismanagement?

As others have said, the climate situation is a known issue so how have this been allowed to be so bad? Or have we hit a tipping point where we just can’t cope?

Ned "versatile as an egg" Zelic?

Didn't we buy a footballer from Sunderland Richard Orr or something like that, who played one game then got injured and that was that. Career over.

Don't want to go too much off tangent here (sorry if I have Clive and I'll edit/delete what I've written) but the costs to rebuild will be astronomical and as well as the pressure it will put on insurance companies and policy renewal prices, I'm sure there will be huge pressure on the government to stop financing things like the war in Ukraine and divert the funds internally.

I suspect Trump intends to pull the plug anyway but this will just make that decision easier to make and for the US citizens (for those who don't want that to happen) to accept.

Zelensky will have to yield, they'll lose the Donbass for good and Putin will claim a Russian victory and milk it for all he can.
