My, admittedly scant, experience of watching O'Neil brings memories of a player of a similar nature to Tommy Smith but with a little more class.
Also vaguely remember a quote about him being much more intelligent on the pitch then he is off it or words to that ilk.

Smith was a far more subtle player with better technique. O'Neil is more of a tireless box to box ploughman type. If the wages are reasonable I think he'd be a decent enough signing. |  | | |

Well put it this way. I couple of years back my mate invited me to a West Ham game vs Aston Villa at Upton Park, QPR were playing on the Sunday so I went along to the game. And I heard one Hammer at the game go "I don't know who I want out more, Avram Grant or Gary O'Neill". He was a liability all game and Aston Villa won the game 2-1. Would be a terrible signing. Not trying to sound negative but Harry is slowly losing the plot. |  | | |

Said this before with inevitable results... But here we go...
I thought O'Hara looked very good under Redders at Spurs and if we can get him on a free and reasonable wages I'd say it was worth a punt that Harry could get him going again. He can create a bit which we desperately need.
