Rest of the Championship thread 11:07 - Aug 10 with 122423 views | Hunterhoop | Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc? For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te? Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull. Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

Rest of the Championship thread on 21:25 - Jan 24 with 3016 views | ManinBlack | If anyone is remotely interested, Hull lead Sheffield Utd 2-0. Our victory over them looking even better as they also recently drew 3-3 with Leeds after being two goals adrift.

Rest of the Championship thread on 22:03 - Jan 24 with 2720 views | Loyalitat | What a brilliant league this is. I don't for one minute believe the baseless stories being concocted re: Dunne, but even though he's about third/fouth choice centre-half for us, he's better than Robinson and I can't believe how out of sorts Ahmedhodzic looked tonight. By all accounts, they've got Choudhury coming in from Leicester on loan and J J Kenny!!, formerly with Everton. As if their squad isn't bloated enough as it is. Well done Hull.

No denying that it's impressive that Burnley have only let in (can't spell conceedid) 9 goals. Also, no denying it's a good result for us, as it keeps them both in touch...

This isn't a test. With that team and resource they could get promoted any way they want. They've chosen to do it the Scott Parker way, which is completely unwatchable in my opinion. Fine, we'll be Championship next year, they won't. The test is next year. Because Parker did exactly this at Bournemouth. He ground out a promotion from a squad that should have waltzed it. He demanded a whole load of expensive signings in January, almost none of which ever played serious minutes for the club. He went up, they lost every game, they got done 8-0 at Liverpool, he blamed the board for not buying him more players, he got the sack. I mean, it's a living. But what are we doing here?

Look at Bournemouth since, million times better since they sacked him They'll go up but be back down next season, i can't imagine their fans are too happy, feels like when we went up under Redknapp, it was painfully dull most of the time

Well I guess Bournemouth would say he got us there, and we've built from there. I think we're getting to the point I believe they reached in Italy a long time ago where a promotion specialist manager is hired, achieves promotion, and then effectively loses his job because you hire a guy who is versed in surviving in the top division instead. Parker gets them up, leaves, takes over Wolves next year, repeat. Still think Redknapp should have been dismissed after our play-off win.

In my opinion Redknapp didn't win us the play off final Clint Hill did. Without Hill telling him what to do we would have lost.

Sky interviewer pre-match actually complimented him on being known for playing stylish, attractive football (paraphrasing but similar words). Shurely on a bet...

Another sliding doors moment that (equal to when Fernandes bought the club). We lose to Derby, Redknapp quits. I wouldn't expect us to make the right decision on the next manager though (especially with Beard still around the place).

Yeah I mean he'll probably end up with more promotions than Warnock but I find his teams awful to watch, shame as he was a really good and likeable player
