Ins and Outs on 18:22 - Aug 1 with 1588 views | PatfromPoole | Seems a bit harsh on Ray Reardon being an “Out” when he has passed away. My Dad played him once at Butlins at Minehead, he seemed an all-round good chap. Certainly not somebody to be bracketed with Rupert Lowe. And is it Stockport or Southport???

I’ve changed to Southport (was drinking last night with a family from Stockport!!!). And the outs are all tongue in cheek, some unfashionable, some just gone (like dear old Ray Rearson) and some you dislike.
Ins and Outs on 23:40 - Aug 1 with 1353 views | franniesTache | I used to love the ins and outs in the paper fanzine, always made me laugh even when half of them were clearly in jokes. Didn’t the whole thing start in the face magazine or is that age playing tricks on my mind? And mine for August are IN Aampshire becoming money bags Top boy (rip) Sebago deck shoes Weddings where it doesn’t rain Renewing the network rail card Missing an early game due to holidays Turkish Olympic shooters Proper old fashioned terraces Trants scaffold scam Getting too much sun by the river in Oxford OUT Being able to sleep in heatwaves Adidas trainers The hundred (county all the way) Missing early games due to train strikes “Safe” standing Stats nerds Getting too much sun falling asleep on the common Edit to say I’ve got some of the originals scanned I’ll try and put them in this thread in the morning [Post edited 1 Aug 23:41]

If the price of deodorant has become too expensive, I can heartily recommend Lynx Africa, which is very reasonably priced almost anywhere you can find it in the world.

The original Ins & Outs were in a fanzine called The End. This was created in Liverpool in the early/mid 1980's, by a group of football fans including Peter Hooton who late found fame in The Farm, both Liverpool & Everton, it had no bias and concentrated on football & music culture and indeed non football culture mainly on Merseyside but also across the country. Pretty much the blueprint for not only The Ugly Inside but also literally hundreds of football fanzines in the boom of the late 1980's.

Ah the end of course! Knew it was one of the End of Face. I genuinely think it's a real shame paper fanzines barely exist these days, they offered a real alternative to culture at the time and were a big part in making Terrace Culture (with it's links to fashion, music etc,) a thing. I guess you could argue that today's version is social media, but so much of that is completely homogenous and lacks the alternative edge fanzine and terrace culture had, one that actually challenged the clubs and the status quo

Totally agree with you, but I suppose it was of it's time, if you look on line you can find a book put out about 10 years ago compiling all of the End issues, its a big book so quite expensive, but well worth a read if you are into a bit of 80's culture, it is very funny if you don't like Liverpool
