In recent seasons, Newcastle have created most of their goals against us with fast attacks down the wings and they certainly wouldn't have too much trouble scoring this time if Valery were in the team.
In his last game in the EFL Trophy for our B team, Saints got thrashed 5-0 by Northampton. In fact, they've let in goals and lost every game he's played this season. If he plays tonight, Steve Bruce will certainly concentrate his attacks down that flank as he knows that our goals against tally in the games Valery played last season was shocking. I would probably play Walker-Peters left back and Stephens right back or vice versa, perhaps even Ward Prowse at right back. Valery coming in just for one game would probably be a mistake. He won't be match fit and won't give his all, knowing he is just filling in. | |
