Who's your guy for 2009?

There's only one big question on Rams fans' minds as we're entering a new year; who will be the next Rams manager and can he finally turn things around?

The number of candidates is endless. Some more serious than others. Any ex-Ram who is available is a candidate. Any Premier League manager who was recently sacked is a candidate. What we want to know is who is the RamZoners' favourite? It's impossible to have every possible candidate in a poll but we have picked 10 of the most likely candidates to give you 10 options to choose from.

Some of them might rule themselves out of the race before the DCFC board have chosen their favourite but we will leave the poll as it is to see who the fans actually wanted. People like Stefano Eranio and Nigel Clough sound very interesting to many Rams fans but neither seems to be the most likely candidate to actually get or want the job at this point. So take a look at the list to the right of this site, choose your favourite and cast your vote!

Paul Jewell left the club feeling as a failure but he still had full backing from the board and a slight majority of the fans wanted him to stay. It was very close but the final results in our poll showed that 52% wanted him to stay and 48% wanted him to go. The slight majority of fans that wanted him to stay might have changed their vote after the Ipswich defeat and the writing was on the wall for where this was going with the form the team was in.

No matter what you think about Jewell's performance and the reasons behind it, you have to give it to him for leaving before everything turned too sour and it all ended in tears. There's still time for a new manager to take Derby far away from the relegation zone.
