LFW Pub Guide - The Adelaide Friday, 27th Jun 2008 22:12 by LFW The subject of a refit and makeover since the last LFW pub makeover. Now offers a decent range of food. Name of pub: The Queen Adelaide Location: Uxbridge Road, before the British Queen and Coningham and opposite KFC. Size: Average. Selection of beers? Several cask ales available and plenty of European premium lagers. Price of drinks? Expensive. How full does it get on a matchday? Packed. How fit are the bar staff? Varies. How long does it take to walk to the ground from there? Five minutes. Sky Sports/ESPN? No. Suitable for away fans? Home fans only. But maybe if they're with a QPR fan it would be ok. Suitable for families and kids? Yes but best to get there early enough to get a table - before 1pm on a usual Saturday. What's the smoking situation? Small patio area with benches out the front. Get there early. Beer garden? See above. As far as pub toilets go, just how bad are these? Not too bad usually. Does it serve food and is it any good? The far side of the bar is the restaurant area. Always plenty of choice and the food is nice but pricy. Trendy modern bar, traditional pub or somewhere in between? Gastropub. In one sentence why should people visit/steer clear of this pub? Nice beers, good crowd, not a shithole. Any other business? Watch out for the old sod from Walton who can usually by found puffing away on the patio! - Warfield Hoop Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
