RamBites: Bueno Is Back! - Commons Scot One! - Kilkenny Coming?
Wednesday, 17th Nov 2010 11:58 by Daniel J Sewart

Nigel Clough has revealed that Alberto Bueno will make his come-back from injury this Saturday against the Irons at Pride Park.

Bueno Is Back!!

After a dismal defeat against the foxes, it will be a great boost for the Rams who will welcome the injection of pace and creativity that the Spaniard possesses in spades.

Speaking to the official site Nigel Clough was hopeful the player will make his return:

"We won't risk him in the reserves but we hope if all goes well with his treatment he will train on Friday with a view to being available against Scunthorpe.

"Whether he is ready to start or not is a different matter but if he says he is fit and ready to give it a go then we will get him out there, especially at home where we need him most."

Stephen Bywater is also a likely candidate for at least a position on the bench Saturday after returning to full training this week. He may feature for the reserves against Forest but Russell Anderson will not play for the seconds as a precautionary measure to ensure he is available on Saturday with Shaun Barker suspended.

In other injury news Paul Green and Frank Fielding withdrew from international duties this week but should both be fit for Saturdays match while Chris Porter continues to have scans and see specialists in regards to his ongoing hip problems.

So far the club have been unable to get to the bottom of the problems Porter has faced but hopes these new scans will point them and Chris in the right direction for a comeback sooner rather than later.

Commons Scot A Goal!

Kris Commons scored his first International goal for Scotland after being rewarded with a starting position because of his great form with the Rams.

The goal against the Faroe Islands was a special one for the Derby livewire and he spoke about it to the Official Site:

"It meant everything to score. It is one thing to score at club level but to score for your national side, there is nothing sweeter."

"I wanted to take my chance to impress the manager, absolutely. I've been out of the last couple of squads, so it was nice to make an impact and get in the managers thoughts for the next game."

Rams fans will be pleased if Kris makes his mark on the international stage as long as he returns to the squad unscathed. If he can repeat his goal scoring antics on Saturday for his club then that will please the fans even more.

Oh My God - You (want to sign) Kilkenny!

Derby has been linked in the media over the past few days with a possible move for Leeds United midfielder Neil Kilkenny.

If you believe the reports then they will be battling with the likes of Boro, QPR & Sheffield United for the signature of the Australian international.

Contrary to these stories Nigel Clough told the DET that the reports were without substance.

With the Rams on the rise and the possibility of strengthening for a play-off push in the January transfer window – we can expect the rumours to come thick and fast.

As has always been the case with Derby of late, never believe the club are chasing a player until they have signed on the dotted line.

When they do you will be able to read about it here on RamZone.

Till next time.
