| Forum Reply | Very bad start for Russ. Update sacked ** at 20:04 16 Dec 2024
A former manager Russell Martin gets sacked. That’s football and it happens. He’s handled the pressure quite well and of course we all know that big bucks will considerably soften the blow. But some of the childish jealous petty remarks on here are beyond belief. Even comments that bring his partner into it. Remarks about her appearance as well. How incredibly sad and shallow some people are. Get a grip chaps. Football manager loses job. It happens. Why the hatred? |

You can’t of course but I’d suggest that the staff at Plymouth are not doing their jobs properly. There will or should be constant monitoring and assessment by staff of player fitness levels and that includes weight and body fat. This is not the Dog & Duck Pub team. Plymouth and Rooney need to be offering a detailed explanation as a fit and firing Obafemi can keep them in the Championship. |
| Forum Reply | Obafemi's Weight Gain at 21:26 12 Dec 2024
Obafemi is a disgrace to allow himself to pile the pounds to that extent although with clubs top heavy now with a back room staff that includes coaches, sports scientists, performance analysts as well as team managers and assistants Im not sure how it’s been allowed to happen at Plymouth. What condition was he in when he got there on loan as you’d like to think that Plymouth wouldn’t have signed him (on loan) if he wasn’t fit enough. |

Best to take all of his comments with a very large pinch of salt. He’s either on a permanent wind up Or completely clueless. Or both. |
| Forum Reply | Plymouth Argyle v Swansea City : Match day thread at 09:33 9 Dec 2024
The league table I looked at shows that Plymouth are usually a tough nut to crack at their own ground with a home record that matches or is better than the likes of Norwich Middlesbrough West Bromwich Albion Blackburn etc all top half of the table clubs. And as it’s the Championship anything can happen. Comments like “ show no mercy “ and “ go for the jugular “ just show a complete lack of understanding. It’s winnable of course but it’s loosable too if that’s a word 😃. |
| Forum Reply | Could be it for Russell Martin at 21:27 7 Dec 2024
Using your reasoning and logic, a porter and nurse would be in the same salary as the surgeon in an operating theatre. |
| Forum Reply | Luton Town v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED at 18:16 7 Dec 2024
A good Swans performance today in very difficult conditions and a point away from home in the Championship is always commendable especially at a club who were in the Premier League only six months ago. Dominated goal attempts which is not easy away from home but disappointing to have not scored one or two more given some of the good work that went into creating the openings. We can all see where we need to be stronger which is up front. We look good enough to finish mid table hopefully though which will be a decent enough return. |

“ All first teamers should be on the same pay but with individual bonuses “ On what planet exactly would you expect that crazy notion to work? |
| Forum Reply | Portsmouth Matchday Prog: The Trust at 15:12 4 Dec 2024
Indeed. They were not a good fit for our club for many well documented reasons and history has now shown that to be the case. Jenkins can take the blame. I still can’t believe he got away with it. And not only him. |

“ Parachute Money “ For relegated Premier league clubs. You’ve omitted that. It helps clubs consolidate in the lower division and many are therefore equipped to go straight back up. We weren’t and still aren’t. They were hopeless of that there is no doubt. |
| Forum Reply | Time to move Key? at 19:13 28 Nov 2024
Key needs to concentrate on his defensive positioning and spacial awareness. There are too msny occasions where he is out of position. The Leeds game being a good example. In contrast he’s got an outstanding ability to get forward and quickly. With some work on his positional sense he could make Angel Rangel Mk2 as he’s talented enough albeit it’s a bit raw as it was initially with Angel when he switched from his right midfield role. |
| Forum Reply | Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ at 23:13 27 Nov 2024
What a strange game that was. An excellent 20/25 minutes from us with two very good goals but after that we hardly got forward. IA final total of 3 goal attempts from us and 18 from Derby sums up their domination for 3/4 of that game but their finishing was poor. We converted two of our three chances and there in lies the difference tonight. Lots of positives including an outstanding goalkeeper as well. Into the top half and that’s better than I expected. We are certainly improving . By the way had there ever been a more frustrating footballer than Ronald who was awful again tonight in possession apart from that one crucial moment … |
| Forum Reply | Do you want Swansea to re enter the Welsh cup with Europe. Qualification at 18:27 27 Nov 2024
We need assurances firstly from the governing bodies but if we get those then we definitely should re-enter the Welsh FA Cup. It would be good for the gsme and clubs in Wales too in terms of the interest it would generate. I used to enjoy the Welsh Cup. Something different and welsh derbies are always of interest. |

Yes 15000 to 20000 for the whole collection of shirts and his 20 caps. |
| Forum Reply | Swansea City put forward a project plan to play in the Welsh cup (part 2) at 21:44 25 Nov 2024
It would be good to see a Welsh FA Cup to include Swansea Cardiff Newport Wrexham Merthyr with European qualification as the prize. It has to on the strict understanding and agreement going forward that our EFL status is not affected nor our place in the English F a Cup and league cup. |
| Forum Reply | Antiques Roadshow at 20:32 25 Nov 2024
It not sure that we won the league in 1970 did we? Although my first game was in 1971 v Aston Villa and I can recall Millington. His 20Welsh caps plus Gordon Banks shirt from a 1966 England v Wales match which Millington played in and some other shirts were valued at £15000 to £20000. |
| Forum Reply | Fulton at 16:23 25 Nov 2024
There is a world of difference between the under 21 league and the Championship. To illustrate that point our under 21 s lost this season in a welsh league cup tie to Baglan Dragons. That’s not disrespectful to Baglan who are a hard working team playing in the Cymru South but it’s a million miles away from the Championship it really is. Back on point, Fulton has done well for Swansea City. He is still a valuable member of our first team squad albeit a bit limited in what he can offer, he’s a fully committed wholehearted player always. |
| Forum Reply | Jason Levien has left us in a stronger position than when he took over? at 13:49 25 Nov 2024
Sounds like yet more complete and utter bullshyte from Levein But it depends on how he is defining “ stronger “? We were a relatively established Premier League club of five seasons at the time of their purchase and we are now 14th in the league below that. How does that make it a stronger position? Unless he is intimating that there’s a stronger financial footing now with less debt. Certainly the player wage bill now seems manageable but that’s not what he said. To think that Jenkins agreed to sell to that lot whilst keeping the Trust out of the equation until the last moment …. Next level? |
