Another excellent article Clive. Well written and insightful.
The old school certainly demonstrated much of the desire that has been missing this season to date. Granero is a quality player though and will hopefully stay with us. If Mbia can settle (in every sense) then he will also become a strength as a midfield holding player. We are desperately short of a partner for Nelsen and of course someone who can lead the line and score goals.

The changes that are being made off the field will hopefully also help deliver the bounce that we need. The working environment at Harlington has been reported as depressing and destructive with little communication and a real feel of 'jobs for the boys'. The disastrous transfers have exacerbated this situation as cliques were formed and people isolated. To top it all off the Sporting Director, Mike Rigg, has been a disaster from day one. His reputation here in Manchester was never high; he was seen as a bully, a con man and a fake. His relationship with Kia Joorabchian was also viewed as highly dubious and he took that relationship with him to QPR. He must go quickly.
