I got nicked by one of the Q cars. At my trial the judge asked if there was anything I wished to say before he sentenced me. I muttered “f*ck all” The judge cupped his hand to his ear and said to my brief “did your client say something?” My brief replied “ my client said f*ck all, my lord” The judge said “oh, I'm sorry, I thought I heard him say something”
Perhaps they were Q cars. The police always had fleet of unmarked, covert, undercover vehicles. Taxis, delivery vans even I'm told, a milk float. I imagine the same situation obtains today.
Tourists leaving due to earth tremors but locals staying put. Don't blame 'em either - what a beautiful place. Anyone clever enough to put up some pics ? For some reason I can't do it at present..
My neighbour got his pension increase letter today. If he lasts a bit longer he will receive an extra 25p a week. In fact it's 20p after tax. Is there anything you can buy for 20p? I'm surprised that Keith Starmer bloke hasn't taken it away.
I think the Western Arms was a Whitbread pub while the Narrow Boat was Fullers. I worked around there moons ago and used Lads of the Village at lunchtimes plus a Courage pub on the Harrow rd that had good scran and Directors bitter, I think it was George the IV or something.
On the side of the road where the camera was, there was a pub built on a slope called the Admiral Blake but locals called it the Cowshed. Trumans ale so that was good. Legend has it that a bass guitar stolen from Paul McCartney was unknowingly bought by the pub Guv, and wasn't seen again for 50 years. Anyone remember ?
Jackson Browne..that's a name from way back. I loved Doctor My Eyes. I'm sure I've a vinyl album or two in my collection which took over my house irrevocably many years ago. Stop press… just bought 2 cd best of from MusicMagpie for £2.77 post paid.
