If your company pays school fees, health care, rental assistance, then absolutely. Some of the lowest taxes in the Developed World which is nice. Humidity is high, given the proximity to the equator (see, that there, that's how its done) and it rains a lot as it gets both monsoons. But there's heaps to do for the kids and you have loads of amazing places on your doorstep like Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Japan etc to visit. I mean, Darwin is a *very* cheap flight for a weekend/half term trip and well worth doing. I've been doing the whole 'live abroad' thing for the last 5 years and I highly recommend it. It will make a huge difference in your kids as well, give them an appreciation and respect for other cultures that they don't really get at home. |
