Solved at the tailpipe eh. Well that's almost good to know. Meanwhile Wales is increasing the "pollution control" areas.

And if he can make a success of this then maybe the doom and gloom mongers who would have us rejpoin the EU can be silenced. Imagine if Keir Starmer is the architect of the brave new world where the UK is thriving and better off than when inside the EU?

This btave new world wouldn't be anything like Huxley's version obviouslky, apart from the engineered intelligence. Can he do it?

15 minute towns and cities was what we had before supermarkets and "out of town shopping"

As a kid I could walk for no more than 10 minutes and visit 2 butchers, a greengrocers, a fishmongers; an ironmongers, 2 chemists, 2 doctors surgeries, various clothes shops and 2 chip shops with 1 pub, the White Rose, s hairdressers and a barber.

Food was sold in paper bags too, bottles were glass and were rcycled.

Why was that worse than today? Why would a 15 minute city be so bad....well because the conspiracy "experts" think it means they'll restrict our travelling.

Where we used to live we had a neighbour who was fighting for her son to be diagnosed with ADHD, a family member told us it was because she wanted to give up working. She could just have been bitching I guess.

The benefits system regards this kind of thing, it's out of control but a lot of people feel entitled to this "help" so no wonder there's no money.

Except they didn't shut it off, officialy anyway...
LADWP’s explanation for the shortage comes down to three nearby water tanks, each with a storage capacity of about a million gallons. These tanks help maintain enough pressure for water to flow from fire hydrants in uphill areas — but the pressure had decreased due to heavy water use, and officials knew the tanks couldn’t keep up the drain forever.

“We pushed the system to the extreme,” LADWP CEO Janisse Quiñones said in a news conference. “Four times the normal demand was seen for 15 hours straight, which lowered our water pressure.”

According to LADWP, the tanks’ water supply needed to be replenished in order to provide enough pressure for the water to flow through fire hydrants uphill. But officials said as firefighters drew more and more water from the trunk line, or main supply, they used water that would have refilled the tanks, eventually depleting them.

There you go. The water wasn't shut off, it was running out and they couldn't refill it quick enough to keep pressure up. Hundredss of fire hoses going full blast for 15 hours and more, it could have that effect.

at 20:37 12 Jan 2025

Yes you can vote but if 21% of the votes are for one thing but the 79% want something else, what happens? Who wins?

You seem to believe the trust could force the owners to go in a different direction. The trust had no influence because they had 21% of shars, if they'd had 51% then they'd have influence. You do understand how a majority decision works?

You said Gyorkeres was available to us, after the way Cooper had treated him, why would he sign for us? That's before we wonder of we'd have offered enough....oh wait, we know we wouldn't have because Levein and Kaplan pulled the rug even after agreeing a fee, at least once.
You say the trust chased HJ out...risible, klaughable even. HJ had been making very bad decisions, he re-signed Bony and Ayew and cost the Swans tens of millions and the fans all around the stadium weren't happy with him.

Our first 11 isn't that bad, we need strength in depth because after the first 2/3 subs we have nothing so when somebody is missing, we struggle.

It is massively compounded by having a coach who looks so far out of his depth, a coach who doesn't make changes when needed but the same changes time and again (often around the 60 minute mark), a coach who uses players out of position.

People say we need an experienced coach, how about a capable coach? How about a coach who uses the squad to its strengths and stops fannying around in defence with stupid, suicidal passing (a la Russell Martin, somebody did warnus!) on the edge of our box. How about taking chances going forward and not always looking for the safe pass because, no such thing, how about telling our midfield to get forward more quickly?

It's a simple rule, even Man City and Liverpool obey it, if under pressure in and around the penalty area, if there's no easy pass on then "av it" and hit the ball as high and as long as possible.
Playing possession football is fine except when it costs you points. Shooting more often might help too. How many shots did we manage today?

Grimes goes off and Allen nearly scores....how dare Joe be so far forward, you'll never catch Matty being so adventurous, well maybe one game in 20.

Well that seems bloody stupid, doesn't it. What if Vigoroux gets injured, we'll have McLaughlin for the duration? After today that's a tad worrying.

So lets see, we have no decent cover at goalkeeper, we have no decent cover at centre back, we only really have (of any quality) Joe Allen to cover midfield, we have no cover on the wings, we have no cover at stirker, it's Bianchini or Vipotnik.

Just as well Coleman took over when he did eh or after this window we 'd be asking O'Leary and Robinson to come out of retirement, oh and bring Trunds and Curt with you...

I'm there too. We need to be trying different things to see what works, who works with who...

MPH just doesn't work for us, send him back and leave Cullen at CAM. Give Abdullai a go in possibly his best position too, CDM

Why are we playing a CAm and a CDM on the wings, doesn't anyone wonder?

Why are we persisting with older players? Naughton 36, McLaughlin 37, why?

Why not rest a few guaranteed starters and give some kids a go, if baffles me. The only answers can be that LW is either clueless and/or too much of a coward to try new things. He's stuck in a "style" and cannot change, or is scared to.

Grimes dropping deep consistently puts us under pressure, it was being so deep and the keeper trying to fiuind him that got Grimes booked. If he'd stayed away the ball would have been cleared.

Everything has to go through Grimes and he always slows it down, we rarely commit forward with pace and that IS because of Grimes.

Which player do you think doesn't look clueless? I hope it's not Grimes because he's as bad as anybody else besides the keeper.

I tend to agree.

Today he could have tried starting Abdullai with Franco, or even put Allen in there to start with. It rests Grimes and it gives us a chance to see what works without Grimes.

I'd rather have seen an U21 CB in there too, instead of either Christie or Naughton. Just to give them the chance.

Ukraine used to be known as the bread basket of the Soviet Union and its vast fields will soon recover and be supplying wheat again. In fact he fields will be even bigger once Vlad has flattened all the buildings. Then he'll have a massive supply of wheat to sell to whoever he can.

When looking for reasons, besides being an egomaniac with a desire to build himself up into legendary Russian status, follow the money.

Oldham grooming gangs: Government blocks national inquiry
at 12:40 12 Jan 2025

Young girls always dress up to look older. I saw a mates neice down Wind street one night looking every inch the stunning 20 something in her low cut dress and high heels and make up.

She was 14.

Child sexual abuse isn't the preserve of Asian men but as said, it does seem to be publci knowledge and as in the North of England, parents were going to the police, even victims were going to the police and the police did next to nothing.

That needs an inquiry, the police inaction needs investigating and there will be some that deserve prosecuting as much as the perpetrators of abuse.
Just as with other things he's said and done, Starmer is being the wet lettuce again.

A wide range of theories, always is, from the lunatic fringe to the sane and logical.

Land grab.....how much of this land would be available for such a grab? Much of the now burnt out areas are suburbs where people will want to rebuild their homes. So a land grab isn't likely.

Now greed, will unscrupulous try and capitalise, absolutely 100% without a doubt, they always do. Will they succeed? Who knows.

Now government narratives, anybody who trusts a politician is, in my opinion, just as barmy as someone who thinks that everything that happens is a set up by greedy unscrupulous people.

These fires are mostly nature having it's way. Some were started on purpose and possibly even accidentally such as the one in the Pallisades area which is a known high risk area. The Santa Ana winds are strong and drive fires quickky and they defelop into fire storms which cause even stronger winds which make the fires jump large gaps. The hotter it gets, the stronger the winds become, the worse the fire becomes. I saw that on the news, live from California. I wtched people crying because they'd lost everything including family, I saw people refusing to leave their homes and trying to fight the fires with housepipes, I saw people running, abandoning cars and leaving everything they owned that they had managed to cram in because the traficc was clogged up so badly and the fires were catching them up with the smoke blinding them. Panic broke out. This isn't a government narrative, not for those people who have lost all they had or those who have died. This is a disaster.

So does curry.

This OP, it's staggering, it's almost as if there's nobody checking these things beforen putting them out there. Or even worse, somebosy is deliberately doing it, like a Tory 5th column

How can people be so incompetent? Then there's the last question, why do people keep voting for the same fools time after time when all we get is absurdity and incompetence?

Levein and Kaplan didn't even bother coming to Swansea let alone to board meetings. The person they left nominally in charge was keeping them updated so they could make the decisions.

They left Coleman "in charge" but he wasn't making the decisions, they were.

It's much better they are gone and the man now in charge is not just actually inn charge but is over here full time.

You tell us you have shares, do they board listen to your opinions?

You insist Gyorkeres was available to us but you have no proof of that. Cooper messed up yes but we cannot know if Gyorkeres would even have signed for us if we'd made an acceptable offer BUT what we do know is the then owners would never have paid what hsi club wanted because that was their MO all through their reign here. Get cheap players. Make low offers and if it works out sell for a profit.

At least Coleman wants to invest properly and improve us. At least he's in Swansea and doing his best.

That last bit, how many clubs do not have foreign players these days, specially in the top 2 tiers.
