Whilst I can't say I'm any more confident that we'll stay up, I am a little more confident that we'll at least be able to give it a go.

In truth it wasn't a great game at all. The first half in particular was pretty uninspiring. Could have been a couple of goals down. Second half was better. Pleasing that after we scored we continued to look relatively strong, rather than retreat into shells as we have done on the (very few) other occasions we've been winning this year. Making all 3 substitutions by 65 minutes was slightly unnerving, but I think Clark was trying to maintain the pressure we were putting them under by throwing on fresh legs.

Excellent performances from O'Hara, Perkins and Davies. DP in particular today looked like a very competent footballer, rather than the terrier scurrying round the pitch that we've become used to seeing.

Not going to get overexcited but a win is a win no matter how scruffy. Back off to Poulton tonight for a few celebratory bevvies. A small step in the right direction, key now is to extend this unbeaten run for as long as we can and make sure we're in touch with the pack come New Year.

Happened to chance upon what I presume (by the reasonable amount of tangerine) was the Fansonline evening out as I was having a pint in the Thatched at around 11:30.

I believe some of those guys are also well-known members of BST. In which case, I'm happy to say that you can count me out of membership. I'm afraid alcohol consumption is no excuse for uninvited approaches to members of the BSA committee who seemed to be on an unrelated night out. Nor is it an excuse to annoy people who are out for a pint on a Friday night with ridiculous chanting.

We're all as frustrated as each other but there were people out tonight treating other Blackpool fans with total disdain. One of them was rightly escorted from the pub by the Police. I can't help but think that if various fans want to be taken seriously, they still have a long way to go.

What today showed me AGAIN was ..
at 22:02 8 Nov 2014

Just had a quick look. The last time we won when the opposition also scored was 14th September 2013, away at Bournemouth.

The last time we turned a losing position into a win was 9th March 2013, away at Watford.

BST Arrange Meeting with Jose Riga
at 10:45 7 Nov 2014

Testing my memory now! He made mention of the 'feel' of things around Bloomfield Road, also referenced the fact that for interviewing it was very much just Jose Riga who was involved, and even then he never gave very much away. One of the Rad Lancs guys said 'it feels like you've learned more about Lee Clark in five minutes than you ever knew about Jose Riga in months', and Will agreed. Unfortunately the programme isn't on iPlayer so can't hear them again, but I found them very interesting.

In reply to an earlier post, I don't think there's any closed-mindness on this matter really. It seems that only now are people realising that Jose might not have been 'all that', so to speak, and yes I am aware of the restrictions he was working under etc, I don't need reminding of that. I think my biggest question is over who stands to gain anything out of this, and I suspect the answer is nobody.

Agreed. Regardless of the state of the club at the moment, family comes first and GB would be doing the right think taking time out to focus on them.

I'm sure it's the BSA AGM later this month (usually has been in November anyway) so no doubt something will be put in place swiftly.

BST Arrange Meeting with Jose Riga
at 23:53 5 Nov 2014

I suspect you may be on to something there Wiz. Because there's a strong feeling of dislike towards KO, any attempt to engage him in dialogue is automatically seen as a waste of time or a failure. Because people broadly respect Jose, I dare say this will be seen as a great success story. It doesn't really matter what is actually said in either case, people have already made their minds up. Riga was not a perfect manager by any stretch of the imagination and it'll be interesting to see how many questions in this meeting are asked of himself, rather than of just KO.

Regardless, I look forward to hearing what he has to say.

Decent Point - Well done Clark and Blackpool

Very decent point, not an easy place to go at all. Hopefully will build a bit of confidence for the future.

Having spoken to a few people with connections to the club over the past few days, I do wonder if everything was as it seemed with Mr. Riga. Will Watt also made some very interesting comments on Radio Lancashire pre-match tonight.

I'm no fan of KO by any stretch but I suspect this will turn out to be less 'meeting the ex-manager' and more 'character assassination of the chairman'. Will email in a few questions.

Has anyone mentioned the referee?
at 20:10 2 Nov 2014

Andy Haines is a notoriously bad referee who always raises a groan amongst the people I discuss BFC matters with. Do a google search for him and you'll plenty of fans of other clubs with much the same opinion.

That said, going back to book their player in the first half yesterday was sensible refereeing. I think 'following the rules of the game' is about the highest praise I can give him though.

I'm in shock....

The continual playing of Lundstram is one that totally baffles me. I can't think of anything he brings to the table to justify his place in the team.

Ridiculous thread going on over there. From what I've heard she's basically being criticised for answering the questions put to her, which were about Lee Clark, rather than going into anti-Oyston ranting. It's also apparently against the grain to call him Karl, presumably only 'Koko', 'Harry Potter', 'parasite' etc count these days.

it's a sad state of affairs when genuine, lifelong fans are berated in such a way for giving up their time to speak to the radio.

Archibald,

I'm not entirely sure what your definition of a 'vacuum' is but since the Riga story broke on Monday night I've heard either Glenn or Fiona speak at some point on Radio Wave, Rock FM, Radio Lancashire, TalkSport, 5 Live and Sky Sports News. I'd say they're doing reasonably well getting their viewpoint across too.

Just heard the whole thing, certainly a lot of angry people out there and quite rightly so.

Very, very impressed with the way Christine put her points over on the phone, extremely articulate. Can't say either of the two Steves in the studio would inspire me to join the organisations they're representing, a wasted opportunity methinks.

All in all though a very worthwhile 80 minutes. Karl's attempts to contradict himself in interviews continue to astound me.

Already down here, just on way back in from night out, all ready for the match tomorrow and another night out. Wouldn't have it any other way. UTP.

How was the game?
at 18:37 18 Oct 2014

First 20 minutes were terrible. Dielna was run ragged by Sean Scannell, who was quite rightly voted MOTM after an outstanding display. First goal in particular was very soft. They scored with what felt like 3 of their first 4 attacks, only a decent Lewis save in between second and third goal stopped it being 4 from 4.

Once Dielna was taken off and Rentmeister came on, with a bit of a reshuffle in defence, we looked a lot more solid but to all intents and purposes the game was over. Only in very occasional flashes did we look like we had any quality with which to trouble them. What is commendable is the fight we showed to pick up those two late goals and remarkably it felt like we were going in for half time in better spirits.

Second half - Fonz had a chance to make it 3-3 but was inches from making a connection. Miller was fortunate to be flagged offside for a chance he effectively cleared away from their goal for them. It was always likely that if they got a 4th it was probably done and dusted. We couldn't quite manage a fully effective clearance and Butterfield was in the right place to stroke a shot home.

That's about it really. It seems to me there are as many problems in the stands as there are in the boardroom at this club. Fan v fan arguments, homophobic chanting etc. Thought it was telling far more people stood up for 'Stand up if you love the Pool' than stood up for 'Stand up if you hate Oyston'. A lot of folk want to go to a match and try to concentrate on what's happening on the pitch, and save their protesting for other ways at other times. Unfortunately there seems to be a growing group for whom that's unacceptable, and your measure as a Blackpool fan is the chants you're willing to join in with. Sad.

As for the team, after 12 games I've seen little to suggest we're in for anything other than a right old scrap this year. We can compete but there's not enough quality there. The losing mentality we've had since around October 2012 continues to haunt the club, and at the moment there seems little sign of it going away.

Here's the team news ..

Interesting side. Looking forward to seeing how Mendy plays. Dielna did well v Cardiff, see if he warrants a run in the team.

Huddersfield not full strength either so maybe a chance to take something here. On way to ground now and plenty of Pool about.

I think that's an excellent statement from BSA, you can certainly feel their frustration at what's happened tonight.

Wiz - presumably you were in attendance, credit to you for heading to Bloomfield Road on a Thursday night and for providing your opinion. Far better than reading some of the utter nonsense that's reared up on the other site.

Bedford,

Would you not be better off emailing the Secretary, if not already done so? I've spoken with Carol many times via email and always had a speedy response.
