This wasnt a scousers song as you so eloquently put it, no one knows who actually started it but it was sung by every club bar Forest back in the day. |

Singing "We hate Nottingham Forest etc, a staple for all football supporters bar Forest in the 70's & 80's it seems to have died out at some stage, good to hear it being sung again |

I meant a similar path in the last few seasons ie 3 seasons, since a mid table Premier League finish then it was , relegation, promotion and now bottom 3 Premier League |

Forest just gone 1-0 up at home to Liverpool |

Wrexham are doing well, but will the jump from League One to the Championship be a bit too much for them financially. The ground will be extended from 16,000 but they havent the catchment area to fill it |

I wonder how Leicester City fans view King Power now, early on they worked wonders and won the Premier League, the death of the main man in 2018 didn't change much initially, but in the last few years they have run a similar path to us and could easily go down again with us |

"Any number of senior management employees from the C E O downwards with their finger on the button should have been able to see that the suggested pricing was wrong. The fact that they didn’t act is testament to their inherent ineptitude fully exampled by the second relegation in three years that now awaits us." There you have hit it on the head, the buck stops with the CEO, it doesn't go up to Kraft or Solak, who has other business interests other than Sport Republic. Perhaps Solak has woken up to the fact that those tasked with the daily running of the club ie CEO Phil Parson's downwards arent doing their jobs. It is pertinent to note that Solak's focus seems to be on the football results and not the ticket prices, indeed he seems to have left off the bit where he said. “Whilst I am pleased with many aspects of the club’s management, I am deeply disappointed with the prices for FA Cup games this season. We will be strengthening our ticket office management team in the near future, and we will share details of that as soon as things are confirmed." |

The general sale is usually to those who are on the database from previous games, the only way the home ends will be infiltrated is if season ticket holders who know Bournemouth fans have bought them tickets |
| Forum Reply | Shareholders in Sport Republic at 14:34 14 Jan 2025
Given that Ankersen is the only major shareholder in Sport Republic with any footballing experience on his CV, buying him out and getting rid of him would be a big mistake unless we have someone with his sort of nous lurking in the background |

I blame the person responsible for setting the ticket prices and do you honestly think that Dragan Solak and his Sport republic board deal with that on a game to game basis, if you do then you also believe that the Chairman of McDonalds sets the prices for a happy meal for the Millbrook branch and Mike Ashley decrees the price of a pair of Adidas Predators in his Sports Direct empire. Since Markus Liebherr arrived that has been the corporate governance, Markus Liebherr and then Katharina Liebherr didn't get involved in day to day running, nor did Gao Come on if Phil Parson's phoned up Solak last week and asked him what we should be charging for the Swansea cup tie tickets, he would have been sacked It's about pay grades. When we stood up against Southampton FC in the 1990's etc we were dealing with a small organisation and speaking to the men that set the prices etc, but we argued with them about the important things, not the price of a replica shirt etc. Now we are part of a big corporation they pay people to set ticket prices, it is way down the list of pay grades

Im not sure that all roads do, Ankersen seems to have been more involved with Goztepe than Southampton on a day to day basis, Kraft was the man overseeing things here. Ankersen was overseeing the overall running of Sport Republic football strategy overall, not Southampton on a day to day basis, hence his recent message as Chairman/President of Goztepe. To call Ankersen a failure with everything he touches is not true, He built Midjutland up from nothing , he then transformed Brentford from a League One club to Premier League and Goztepe from the Turkish second division to 4th in the Turkish Super Lig. Southampton is the only failure on his CV |

Although primarily a left back, Taylor has also played at centre back, he played most of his games in Burnley's promotion season ion this position and at that level is comfortable. Diaz will go probably on loan, but if he did stay at Championship level he would be an asset. Larios hasn't played for two years, if he does return its a bonus, likewise Stewart. So as I said overall as a squad we are not weaker than two years ago, indeed we may well be stronger with Edozie & Charles more experienced. |

I'm sorry I am not sure what your point is here, yes the owners have ultimate responsibility for the way the club is run, but they don't get involved in ticket prices and beer prices, lets get serious here, if you go into Mcdonalds and there are no napkins, you don't say the entire company is rotten to the core, and blame the CEO, you assume that the manager of that branch isn't running it properly and blame him. |

I actually think we will be in a stronger position, if we discount the players who will definitely go ie Ramsdale, Dibling, Fernandes, KWP, Ugochukwu, Brereton Diaz, Sulemana & Onuachu, but will put a fair few bob in the transfer kitty, then we will still have. Also those who might go, ie Bednarek, Bella-Kotchap, Harwood Bellis, Stephens Goalkeepers Bazunu, Lumley Full Backs, Manning, Bree, Sugawara, Welington, Larios Central defenders - Edwards, Wood, Taylor . Midfielders - Downes, Smallbone, Lallana, Aribo, Charles Wide Players, Amo-Ameyaw, Edozie, Frazer, Strikers - Armstrong, Stewart, Archer, Ballard We have the foundations of a decent squad there, add in a few promising youngsters & we can improve the areas we are weak in with a few permanent or loan signings plus if maybe one we expect to go, stays. So the basis of the squad is no weaker than we were in the Championship last time and with a few tweaks can be better , from that squad we would be only a centre back and a forward short. |

It would be difficult to get every Premier League game played at a time that suits all countries,it is also about fitting in games at 12.30 so they can spread the kick off times and can get another game televised and maximise those watching on TV here and in Europe. 12.30 in England is 20.30 in China, 15.30 in Dubai, 18,00 in India, to be fair its only inconvenient to Australia where it's 23.30 or the Americas where it's 07.30 in New York & 04.30 in LA. |

The fee is supposedly 5 million euros and not pounds, so given the exchange rate when we signed him about £4 million rather than £5 million. But this fee is only speculation, neither club has actually revealed the the fee and so its just media outlets speculating. Back in August 2018 we signed a then 16 year old Alexandre Jankewitz for around 2 million euros, so a very similar deal I.m sure there have been others . As we speak we don't know that it will be a shoddy deal for Saints, it might turn out to be a brilliant one, then again it might not. At the end of the day Sport Republic have put a lot of money into Southampton FC, this is a drop in the ocean for them financially and for Saints, yes it's perhaps moving money around but look around the Premier League it's not uncommon, its the modern game with clubs being owned by people who have connections to other clubs Who do we blame for ticket prices ? As I have said elsewhere the people who are actually setting them, not the owners who have no input on the situation. |

Ok there is still a month to go till the game itself but it seems that there is around 2,000 tickets still left for this game, seems like the floating support is giving up |
