That's quite a leap. Russia has a big naval tradition and not every Russian is a criminal or linked to Putin just in the same way as not every US citizen is a MAGA loving Trumpite or every British person a Johnson/Sunak/Truss fanboy/girl etc etc.
Boats often have crew from all over the world on them, not just from where the boat is registered to/operates from. If the Kremlin was involved, do you think they'd make it that obvious.
Let's put 'that' goal aside..... by and large his record was pretty poor. 12 goals in 83 games.... 1 goal in 7.
IIRC, pretty much all of the four goals (21 games) he got in the 2012/13 PL season were in losing matches so they contributed nothing in terms of points (though, TBF, crap defending is not his problem I guess).
Not good on the whole and certainly not for the huge amount of money he was paid but 'that' goal gives him immunity I guess!
IIRC, Cureton kept being played out wide. IMO he was a fox-in-the-box striker. I was quite excited when we bought him as he had a good record with Bristol Rovers and Reading but only scored 6 goals in 43 games for us.
Does anyone else think the same... that he was played too far wide?
“while a suggestion can sometimes be based on an opinion, making a suggestion is not exactly the same as stating an opinion; a suggestion is a proposed course of action or idea, while an opinion is a personal belief or viewpoint about something, which may or may not be accompanied by a suggested action.
Key differences:
Action-oriented: A suggestion is actively proposing a solution or idea to be considered, whereas an opinion is simply a personal view without necessarily advocating for a specific action.
Open to debate: While opinions can be debated, a suggestion is often presented as a potential solution to a problem, leaving room for discussion and acceptance or rejection.”
You did not give an opinion, you made a suggestion but you like to sugar coat it as an opinion.
"I have friends at IFAB, I used to play for them you know, top striker I was too. No one was better than me. I'm sure as one-off in the heat we can accommodate 30 mins. I'm here to do a deal. I can play the accordion as well...."
IIRC offside was brought in to stop goal hanging. Last night the goal was ruled out because a PSG and Liverpool player were standing next to each other facing away from goal and the PSG player just happened to lift his foot meaning his heel was now 'offside'. Sorry, but that's not what it's about, that goal should have stood.
Football is a game where goals are to be scored, that's the primary objective. That's why strikers are generally the highest paid, are the fans favourite, win the awards and so on.
Players & fans enjoy goals, players & fans watch the game for goals but the authorities seem hell bent on doing everything they can to stop this. It's weird.
That aside, a real smash 'n grab and fair play to Allison who had a corker.
I just watched the whole 50 minutes of the meeting and on the whole it actually seemed to be going well and encouraging between the two Presidents then (39:54 in the video below) Trump said to the journalists "one more question..." and at this point JD Vance, who was not involved but started getting himself more and more involved in the closing 20 minutes, suddenly decides to jump in and take centre stage, loses the plot and absolutely kicked things off and was acting like it was an election rally and butt-sucking up to Trump big style.
Trump really should have jumped in and said "OK, lets take this offline and discuss privately. Thank you everyone for a good meeting, see you soon" and ended it there. Unfortunately he allowed it to carry on and allowed himself to get sucked in and the whole thing escalated. Vance must have been delighted.
During that heated exchange JD Vance copied Trump's hand gesture style, particularly where Trump holds his thumb and middle finger together while pointing with his index finger. I looked at other videos of Vance and it wasn't as prominent, if at all.
Seeing the whole video, Vance is absolutely the instigator in it all kicking off and triggering Trump. It was totally unnecessary as there was nothing that led for the need for that to happen. Absolutely deliberate sh@t stirring of the highest order. Sat back at the end with a smug look on his face.
