At Least We're Not Blackburn...! 21:13 - Mar 19 with 1009 views | RamZone_News | Astonishing - or is it? Blackburn have sacked another manager! Michael Appleton has been turfed out after just 15 games and 67 days in charge: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21843906 Spare a thought for ex-Rams' man-mountain defender Darren Moore, recently chuffed to bits to be appointed to a coaching role at Ewood Park. He's lost his job, too, along with Appleton's backroom staff.
At Least We're Not Blackburn...! on 17:43 - Apr 13 with 959 views | davram | Yep - and we sadly weren't very much like Blackburn on the pitch today (Sat. 13th update). Rovers have been in turmoil all season, but they have still enough quality players to take points off us in the League and hammer us in the FA Cup. Classic after-match comment from Clough when he said we played well "between the two penalty areas"!!! That still means we can't defend effectively (has Fielding blown his chance to claim No.1 goalie spot?) and we remain, as ever, ineffective in the opponents' penalty area. Four games to go, the season can't really be shut down early (again) by DCFC's players, because if we lose on Tuesday night at Barnsley and Blackburn beat Huddersfield, they're a point behind Derby with a game in hand - and Derby would be sucked into the proximity of teams fighting against the drop. How much more proof does Sam Rush need that this team needs adequate investment ASAP? [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

IMHO, Sammon will only prove to be an expensive flop if DCFC do not sign the type of goal-hungry, instinctive striker that can feed off his wayward touches and guess correctly and get into the areas where the other forward runners are likely to hoof the ball. Successful teams do score some picture goals, but they also tend to score more ugly and lucky goals, too. A miss-hit shot often wrong-foots the goalie. Derby's players seem to get nervous near the opponents' area, so they either try to take a another touch, intending to score a perfect goal, or can't decide what to do with the ball before a brick-outhouse stopper whacks it away.
