"£50m Spending Spree: Cardiff to Hand Malky Mackay Huge War Chest if Promoted"

Cardiff will hand Malky Mackay a huge £50million war chest and order him to blow cup kings Swansea out of the water.

Manager Mackay will land the massive windfall if, as expected, he leads Cardiff to promotion to the Premier League.

Swansea have seized the headlines by reaching today’s Capital One Cup Final at Wembley.

But Mackay will also be under huge pressure to make Cardiff the top Welsh club next season.

Cardiff’s owner Vincent Tan, the ninth richest man in Malaysia, wants to make the club the pride of Wales — no matter how much it costs.

A Cardiff source said: “The owner is ready to make huge money available for wages and transfers if the club go up.

“The first priority in the Premier League will be to eclipse Swansea straight away.

“But the long-term ambitions stretch much further and the owner is determined to make Cardiff an established Premier League force.”

Cardiff lead the way in the Championship — and hope the proposed transfer kitty will help persuade Mackay to ignore potential interest from West Ham.

Mackay is understood to be among the candidates to replace Sam Allardyce if the 58-year-old does not sign a new contract at Upton Park.

History has proven you cannot buy instant success, just look at QPR.
They walked away with the Championship last season, spent bucket loads of money and are odds on favorites for relegation .

I guess that the internet has bypassed Cardiff. Someone should telegraph Cardiff that Brendan Rodgers is no longer at Swansea.
