Transfer embargo on 15:24 - Feb 23 by Pops2 | We don't want to be linked with a town who's 3 main talking points are it's immigrants, unemployed & kiddie fiddlers (especially the fat one). We have the lovely reputation of a world famous market and 2 shopping centres to preserve. You keep your spindles and payday loan shops and we will happily slip into non league and oblivion. Would I swap, probably not. Do you really think you will be a league club much longer on gates of less than 2000? Maybe on an Accy level but is that really what you want. I would rather sack it and spend the reddies on ale. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Transfer embargo on 11:41 - Feb 25 with 2184 views | AtThePeake | Blackwell's comments have me in stitches on a weekly basis. "I was lied to, I was deceived, I had no idea the finances were so bad... But the directors are brilliant and I knew I was going to have to sort the club out financially when I got here... Oh, and we're brilliant now I'm in charge."

Na, plenty of shops in scummy bury to steal it from.

Transfer embargo on 15:42 - Feb 23 by Sandyman | bury's market isn't world famous. It isn't even "Market of the year" - 2 claims it falsely trumpets from it's hoardings. The football club is neither famous or mighty either. Their disgraced bent MP was financially hopeless, just like their football club. And our bus station doesn't run a dedicated matchday service to watch the games of a club the locals profess to be their biggest rivals. Unlike bury's does. Shoddy. |

That's as opposed to the slide you're on which shows no particular sign of stopping? 3 seasons ago you walked this division, 2 seasons ago top 10 in L1 and you people were going on about The Championship. Now 2 years later you've finished bottom of L1 and look a pretty good bet for a bottom half finish in L2 whilst paying Keith Hill's mortgage til he swans off elsewhere in the summer. This season has been pathetic at Gigg from the minute the last one ended - Barker packed the squad with overpaid shite then left (his quality being proven by the way he's turning Crawley worse by the week), Shirtliff was a waste of time and effort, Blackwell is insane and they've all spent too much. Virtually none of the playing squad will start next season but since they're almost (Skarz, Soares and Schumacher excepted) all garbage anyway it doesn't really matter. In the midst of your gloating however don't kid yourself that future looks particularly bright on your side of Heywood either.

It looks a damn sight brighter than it does at Bury - seeing as we've never had to get a loan from the PFA. Our downwards spiral has stopped, I get the feeling that Bury's has just began.

Nope, ours began the day Lowe and Mozika left. The thing that is crippling us is the cost of wages set against attendances being about two thirds of what was budgeted for. They are, of course, still higher than yours. I'm not expecting next season to be great (and have believed since about July that we would be spending 2013/14 in league Two - just look at where our cast off players are going - to the conference or into the conference's waiting room, our squad is and has been awful all season), but I do expect it to be better than this. We are paying some very high wages for no return (Healy, Bishop), and will get these off the balance sheet for next season. There'll be no money to bring in a huge replacement squad but it is hard to imagine we could find a way to replace it with something more gutless or clueless than has been the hallmark of this campaign. However, I'm just not so sure your downwards spiral has stopped. It doesn't look like it from the outside and teams have gone down from L2 without financial trouble in recent years - you might recall you signed Ashley Grimes from one.

Keith Hill was handed a payout from Barnsley flower which im sure will certainly be clearing his mortgage as you like to put it?If you think the only reason he's back at Spotland is financial you really are more stupid than i initially thought,if were on such a continual downward spiral would you like to name your price for us to be relegated this season and ill gladly take you up on the offer, when/if the time comes we are hit with TWO transfer embargos similar to your good selves and are so clearly in the brown stuff, ill agree with you. I again reiterate id much rather be where we are both financially and league standing wise than the black hole you lot have to contend with,Stockport County anyone?

Can't agree with you on the league standings...I'd much rather be in League One with a slim chance of survival, playing against bigger teams and support, than floating between the League Two playoff/relegation zones. Financially I reckon we're in much better shape. But being in 'much better shape' than bury doesn't necessarily mean we're in a good place!!!

Sadly agree. our aim must be league one however difficult Lg1 stability is to achieve on sub 2200 home attendees. Also agree although in better shape than the mis managed bURY we are on a perilous knife edge and i will feel happier when we unearth the next big thing in the North West - polish him up and sell him for the obligatory £300 000!! Think this story will rumble on!!

Oh I agree with y'all that we'll be in League Two next season. Best result of the campaign last night and everyone else won so it didn't make that much difference. We will have to cut our cloth significantly but even with the two PFA loans we are in better financial shape than last time we came down to this division (when we were basically bust) and we survived, just about. It's whether you're still in L2 by the time we arrive that's the question - 3-0 home battering by the second bottom team in the league and only 6 points from the drop zone? The Keith Hill revolution's taking a little longer to kick in this time round. And on the financial security point, if you keep on attracting sub 1800 gates you'll be joining us in financial shitsville soon enough. And PS my apologies on the Grimes thing, hold my hand up and admit that I thought he was a permanent Lincoln player. They did, after all, go down whilst owing the PFA nothing.

Ill take that as a no then in answer to my offer of a bet concerning us being relegated? The difference is clubs like ours plan for and expect shit crowds hence budget accordingly for the rainy day unlike your set of joker who insist on overspending ie double transfer embargo, any sign of the buckets making another appearance?Save our shakers anyone?

I think Barry Strange will be nearer to the truth than you think. There is no way that the club budgeted for crowds as low as they have been. Getting shut of the scousers will not have been cheap. Re-engaging Hill will be a gamble based on increased home attendances, but last night showed that the novelty of the return has worn off on the general public. What was on show last night was utter shite, no disrespect to Accrington intended. We are 6 points above the drop zone and consistently fail to beat those teams that occupy the drop places. Our slide from when Hill left us has been rapid and frightening, and I for one will not take our league survival as a given. Far fookin' from it.

I think your right Judd to many are busy laughing and mocking whats happening .6 miles down the road. rather then look over there own shoulder and see your possibly a couple of games away from the drop zone. With having wycombe never easy to play against and morecomb who alredy beaten you twice . I know Banter is Banter but can you really laugh when your on a collision course yourself.
Transfer embargo on 15:49 - Feb 27 with 1518 views | aleanddale | As on the straw poll thread i think we will stay up. Just. If we had won last night ( some good chances before the collapse ) then the difference would have been 12 points - fine margins indeed. Dale are hopeless this year, its been horrible for 2 full seasons. I am optimistic though that the right man is at the helm and he can sort our shower of shite out. Grant has to deliver now he has served his ban, Any shred of proffessional pride should see an overwhelming desire to deliver. Also Henderson an astute signing who will contribute with goals. It will be car crash stuff the next few weeks. Not sure bURY can even hang on though to very thin threads we are at Dale. I agree with the finance as well, said it for a while that we are only a small step behind the shakers. worrying times.
