...is this need to advertise how amaaaaazing one's life is. Honestly i've got friends that are constantly bleating on about how thoughtful their partner is, how sugary sweet their kids are and what enviably aspirational lives they lead.
Now I reckon I am pretty content with my lot in the main (bit of a rocky patch at the moment alas) but have no desire to compete with others on who's is the best or rub noses in it of those that might be dissatisfied. Makes me fcking mad actually.

Never been on FB and thankfully never felt the need to.
The only social network site i use is this MB where i log in most nights to see what's going on in the world of QPR.
I find the whole concept of FB & twitter etc strange tbh or maybe It's just me that's strange.
Fair enough I suppose each to their own but here's a tip, grab a rucksack, throw a few bits of clobber into said rucksack, grab you're passport and go to the nearest airport and piss off abroad and just bum around for a few weeks, big world out there, go take a look and do something interesting.

1. store photos
2. keep in contact with distant relitives
3. also apart from me on facebook i have a 2nd account with i use to befriend people i want to keep an eye on but dont wish them to know its me 
its great for checking out what my ex's and lesbos are up to without them knowing its me  |  |

I believe when this was discussed before I mentioned that I deactivated my account in the end because my 18 year old sister in law got dumped by her bf. My wife got involved in an argument on there about it, some 17 year old insulted the Mrs so I threatened to slice his ball bag open with a rusty knife... not the thing a man nearing 40 should be doing.
As it was all the wifes relations were adding me as friends. Her dad is a chaplain in the US navy and I don't think he would appreciate some of the discussions I have had on there with mates about which soap actress would be the most accommodating for back door loving etc.
I do reactivate it once a month for an hour to see if the fit women have posted any bikini pics though. |  | | |

Exactly right Hanwell, by the same token I've got back in touch with friends that I had lost touch with for a whole host of reasons which are nothing to do with "well you can't have been that great mates then" type argument.
You might also come across as people who you think "actually we got on as kids but your a wnkr as an adult" but fair does nothing is really lost thats life.

It's mostly completely pointless rubbish.
And as for those "friends...." Someone researched the maximum number of "real," as opposed to electronically harvested, friends you could keep and it is 45 (or 47, one of those two). That person who announced they were going to kill themselves on Facebook: their "friends" did them proud, all 2000 of them. They did nothing whatsoever.
