Game on. on 06:34 - Jan 22 with 1457 views | fraserc | If I were to piss on parades, etc., then QPR got 32 points from the last 18 games last season which, if we were to repeat, would give us 70 points, which is where Hull ended up in 7th.

Game on. on 05:39 - Jan 22 by fraserc | Ok, I'll bite. Last season after 28 games Watford were sixth with 43 points, and ultimately 73 points was enough for Norwich to get the sixth spot, who were on 41 points at this stage in the season. I will say, though, Blackburn are on a really poor patch at the moment and need to turn it around if they wish to stay in with a change of the playoffs. |
Obviously that is a sample size of 1, but indicates how last season teams up it and improve their PPG in the run in. Makes sense as the whole mid table has nothing to play for. But it would only equate to 72 this season. Still basically 11 points every 6 games here on in.

Game on. on 23:36 - Jan 21 by Hunterhoop | At the minute 6th spot is on 42 points from 28 games, which is a points per game of 1.5, equating to 69 points over a full season. That feels very low for 6th in a normal season. Nevertheless, let’s follow the logic and say “70” for 6th. Means we would need 32 points from 18. PPG of 1.78. Basically 11 points every 6 games (gets us to 71). That’s tough. It’s still very unlikely. All that said, keep this momentum up over the next 6 games and the amount required will drop for the last 12, when the big teams will all be under greater pressure to get results and hold onto automatic promotion. |
Sums it up very well. Bookies have us at 18/1 which shows how unlikely it is.

Agree, think it’s still too big an ask to make play offs particularly as we’ve not beaten anyone in the top six and of the nine in the top half we’ve still to play we’ve collectively accumulated four points. That said, in a perfect world, you’d hope one southern club might at least obtain one of the six top places. Be a dream if we were that team. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Hopefully....... |
Yeah, and hopefully the board realise what we have and allow him to do the job to his fullest.

He got a new contract in September so I’d assume he got a reasonable increase then?

Agreed and we’d need to beat one of said teams to make it worth getting there in the first place ! We normally do better against the better teams, especially when the game is more open. Now, we have put ourselves into a position where there is nothing lose by going for it, so why not try and put as many points in the bank as possible and see what we can do with that foundation and increased confidence in March/April.
| Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Game on. on 09:40 - Jan 22 with 1055 views | captainmycaptian | Well March is a toughy. I think it's a tall order but 11 or 12 wins or a combination giving a total of 71 to 74 point should see us make the play offs. The Blackburn and Wednesday game will tell us a lot. In my opinion I doubt it but I am often massively wrong. Could we win 12 out of 18 ? Possibly..... Sir Marti the great ..... we stay injury free and get some players back ? Let's get past 50 points first, which would mean wining the next 4 then we are in with a shout. Either way great turn around let's keep going and pushing and see what happens. You R'ssssssss

Last time I was this high, a pretty lady rolled a trolley down the aisle asking if anyone was interested in buying duty free! Really well done to all. I just hope we don't get too carried away with ourselves and remain realistic as we should be delighted with our progress.

Bookies now have us placed 12th at the end of the season and 33/1 for relegation 😂 Top 6 is now 18/1, I think it was as high as 150/1 in November. Top half finish was as high as 11/1 and is now 11/10.

Ah...but how could you forget that Derby had 12 pts deducted that season and Reading 6? Meaning that, on the pitch, the safety barrier in 21/22 was the good ol' 47pts. We're still doomed - Marti/Zavi out definitely.

Thing is we're not under the radar this season. Last season we shocked Leicester and Leeds. Most teams we beat's fans forums said how could we lose to QPR. Now at least 50% of fans are saying, actually QPR are playing decent football. Those teams at the top will be taking us seriously now.

The under the radar thing is a bit of a myth, isn't it? This isn't the SPL, all the managers and players know there's no room for complacency and that you can lose against any team in this division if you're not prepared and on your game. It's also a myth that we do better against better teams. It's counter-intuitive for a very good reason, that reason being that generally it's not the case. What happens is that we better remember the games that go against expectations. This season we've got three points in six games vs the top 6 and if you do the stats for any meaningful sample, they will tell you that on the whole we get more points against lower teams than higher teams, season in, season out.

Game on. on 13:12 - Jan 22 with 501 views | TK1 | One game at a time. On January 29th 2022, QPR were 4th. Therefore, QPR were 4th in February 2022. By the end of the season, QPR finished 11th after a catastrophic run in Feb, March and April whereby we lost eleven of the remaining 18 games, winning just four. That was from being 4th, seemingly nailed on play-offs. Finished 11th. One game at a time. Anything can happen.
