He may have been eased to the door like Sousa was but that is not sacking. If Coleman wanted him out they did well to get compo but why then would the club go for one of Martin s ex colleagues? |  |

Coleman was the chairman in May well before Martin left, without going over old ground he was also in discussions with Kaplan in February, hence the meeting before the Millwall away game in March last year with Martin.

I saw the Kaplan trip as either a trip to tell Martin to buck up his ideas or a team talk to sooth over deep frustrations over the window. Martin had managed to fall out with three players all getting paid good money with two a high asset valuation. The team were not playing well.
