QPR v Oxfoooooord match thread 15:20 - Dec 9 with 35113 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Going early, and looking to continue the good form Will Morse & Lewis be left stumped? Will Jeff Beck withstand being played twice in a week? Will we make it back to back home wins since God knows when? The Ancient Astronaut theorists again give a resounding YES!. The squad is as thin as Ariana Grande, but another hard-fought win will put meat on the bones of the Rangers recovery. 1-0. [Post edited 9 Dec 16:32]

I turn 56 on Dec 21, but I tend to celebrate on the 22nd each year, as I lost a day somewhere in the mid-80s. Funny, I vaguely recollect a long walk early on, some singing and then....hello darkness my old friend.... 4-0 isnt enough, these f**kers owe me/us.
QPR v Oxfoooooord match thread on 11:05 - Dec 10 with 3915 views | loftus77 | Might have already been mentioned, but worth noting that Oxford have had 11 days with 'feet up' since they last played, while we toiled valiantly to victory on Saturday. Will they be nicely rested or over-rested and, by contrast, will we be fatigued or happily energised? On this, I suspect everything depends. 1-1.

We never do well after an international break ie rested so I think we will be energised and they will be lethargic.

Its also received wisdom that we never do well if we play too much. Seems to be a pattern here. Can't quite put my finger on it...
QPR v Oxfoooooord match thread on 16:39 - Dec 10 with 3503 views | queensparker | Aside from the Cup FInal that never was, I think my lowest moment as a Rangers fan was Oxford away when we faded away from the Championship with that totally cr*p team in 2001 (?). I think it was the night some of our fans put Ray Harford's windows in. Sh*t weather, sh*t ground, sh*t performance, one of those games that really had you questioning the point of it all, only a few years after we had been a top quality Prem outfit.

That said if we turn up without taking anything for granted and create enough chances that the misses don't matter, we will get something. Fingers crossed Kolli is able to play again at the same intensity for the duration, he's carrying a lot of weight for someone with so few first team minutes in his legs. Lloyd and him will have to step up and hope Frey is able to get amongst them by Preston.

Best not look at the prediction league summary then. Suffice to say, everyone and their cousin's dog is predicting the result of the last game.

It's a year since everyone was saying the same about a midweek home game v Plymouth which we drew 0-0 so completely with you, this won't be easy they are not a bad side and them being without an away win fills me with dread

QPR v Oxfoooooord match thread on 13:28 - Dec 11 with 2101 views | scot1963 | I have a QPR ted that someone bought me and last season my cat took to moving it and leaving it in places around the house when I went out. It was like some sort of psychological warfare as I'd go out and arrive back to find it somewhere like it moved itself (worked out it was the cat). It then became apparent that the movement would coincide with when we lost like she was some sort of Paul the Octopus. And then she stopped and hasn't moved it for some time ... until today when I've come back from my dad's and there it is on my bed. I'm hoping her predicting days are over

It's also the style which will need to be completely different. This is a game where we'll probably have more possession, often that doesn't work in our favour as we can't break teams down and everyone gets more and more irate. It's usually exacerbated by us conceding a stupid early goal, or similar... It'll be interesting to see what team he goes with. In theory the likes of Andersen, Saito, maybe even Dixon Bonner would be the keys, trying to find gaps and play through teams... I doubt there will be much space behind or on the break for the likes of Smyth or Lloyd to utilise, so it will be about staying patient and taking chances. Unless of course we just blow the doors off them early and smash it around, which will be nice, but I'm still not convinced where the goals are coming from in this team.

I thought they were serial pressers, in which case we won't have so much possession and time on the ball. I know it goes completely against the grain but I just wonder whether Frey, if fit, would be good starting. Kolli will no doubt be very closely marked tonight and if it is from the off then it might stifle him for the duration. A fit Frey careering around and charging into their centre backs from kick-off could open up more cracks. [Post edited 11 Dec 13:40]

Same. Been 8 times this season. Haven't seen us win since Leeds game in April. On the other hand, sitting in exactly the same seat as I did for that famous victory. So, I reckon we'll edge a very tight contest. 2-1 to the R's.

To be fair, Saturday was our first home league win since Leeds anyway so your 8 games was nearly the full 9.
QPR v Oxfoooooord match thread on 16:35 - Dec 11 with 1564 views | Benny_the_Ball | It'll be interesting to see how this pans out given that Oxford have had 11 days rest and QPR's levels tend to drop against teams in-and-around them. Field coming back in after suspension could be key to the energy levels. Fingers crossed, this bunch break bad habits and continue the recent renaissance. [Post edited 11 Dec 16:35]
