The worst UK city for growth? 04:18 - Dec 1 with 2546 views | AnotherJohn | MSN is featuring a story, recycled from September, about PWC's survey of the best and worst UK cities that I’d missed before. I looked down the best cities list expecting Swansea to be in the top 10, but to my horror we feature as number 1 on the worst cities list. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/other/the-20-best-and-worst-cities-to-live-in-th https://www.pwc.co.uk/government-public-sector/good-growth/assets/pdf/good-growt (full report) The exercise is based on an index developed for PWC’s Framework for Growth research, and our problems seem to include the winding down of traditional industries, the need for city regeneration, serious economic disparities, and lack of affordable housing. Apart from the major impact of the blast furnace closure at Port Talbot, I don’t really recognise the picture, but perhaps I have been misled by the refurbishment of important city buildings and our geographical advantages. Are we really the worst UK city for growth? Apologies if this is old news for some. [Post edited 1 Dec 12:31]

Obviously Johnson only offered the money to play games, but Drakers should have taken it and then claimed the credit. Not taking it is an own goal.

Rog have you driven through west wales above Carmarthen up through Tally Lampeter Llansawell Cardigan, the signage is atrocious, there's 20mph limits for 3/4 or 5 houses then you drive through other areas and limit can be between 30/60, then you differing speed signage within 50 to 200yrds a complete and utter waste of money, streets with parking both sides of the roads, in and around schools and supermarkets and similar places I can understand being 20mph, but there's no consistency. The decision was poorly thought out and rushed out, and the gestapo are all over it. I'm on the roads all the time running around to different jobs and its Shocking.

You are lucky you can read the signage, normally it's painted out by the locals to aid their commute to work.

Thankfully he accepted UK taxpayers monies, via the EU, to dual the heads of the Valleys Road, which hopefully will be finished next year. This will be a viable alternative to travelling to Swansea and West Wales rather than queuing at the Brynglas tunnels.

Not driven in that area for some time, drive down to St David’s on a regular basis, go through a few villages which have 20mph which probably extends the journey time by 10 minutes, if that. Out for the rest of the day today, think I’ll wear my deer stalker hat to upset a few people.

Did a similar drive up to the Llŷn peninsula earlier in the year, and you are quite right - lots of 20mph zones.
