Does Aldershot v Eastleigh count as a local derby?

I would say that Aldershot would consider Woking as their local rivals in the National League, I'm not sure that anyone considers Eastleigh as a local rival at this level

Think Farnborough and Aldershot are in the same borough (Rushmoor) but suspect Aldershot see Woking as their main local rivals. Since moving here 18 years ago I’ve never been able to quite figure it out.

Working in Basingstoke, I think Aldershot are probably the 4th most supported team with my match going colleagues after Saints, Palace & Chelsea. The Shots fans see Reading as their natural rival but don't particularly like Woking. Eastleigh haven't really registered with them. And as long as I finish work in time, I am off to watch Winchester Saturday as I have a season ticket there and I haven't used it yet

Whats Everyone Doing This Football Barren Week on 18:02 - Oct 9 with 2524 views | LondonSaint76 | Went to see Peter Kay at the O2 last night with my daughter on VIP tickets, PK superb as ever, lots of new material and about a dozen new misheard lyrics near the end. Finishes the show suspended in mid-air below 20 huge balloons playing his three shovel guitar as he floats off down the O2 and back again. The O2 can teach SFC a few tricks with the drinks prices - 440ml cans of Thatchers blood orange cider at £8.50 a pop 😮 Will see if Ashford Town (Middx) are at home on Saturday or if not I’ll just try Chertsey or Windsor - one of them will b at home…

Agreed, nice little ground - the League I was involved with for many years used Chertsey as one of our Cup Final venues quite a few times along with Ashford Town Mx, Walton & Hersham and Hampton FC (now Hampton & Richmond Borough). Alan Simpson, of Galton & Simpson fame, used to be a regular at Hampton, had his own special seat at the club bar and used to sweep into the car park in his maroon two door Rolls Royce Corniche. Ended up as club President. Checked out the fixtures and Chertsey are at home to Sutton in the FA Cup 4th Qual round on Saturday so that’s me sorted for a local game to go to.

I looked it up. 2017 Chertsey won 2-0. From the match report ‘Spurred on by a noisy visiting support and a vociferous bench, Hook Norton looked like a different team after the break and pressed Chertsey further up the field.’ Lolz. It was a hot August day and we had to stay hydrated.

If, by some freak of nature, that hurricane (I flatly refuse to use its name) had veered off course and instead of Florida suffering it had crossed the Atlantic, made its way up the Channel, dodged the IOW and hit Portsmouth full on it would have done about £100m’s worth of improvements 😀
