Bournemouth Game Matchday Thread on 22:06 - Sep 30 with 2210 views | A1079 | Another sorry night for our team in the PL. I really wanted RM to succeed. I felt he should be given a chance and he seems a decent man. I was not looking for him to go and my expectations were realistic for this season, but I thought we would show more guile and ability than what we have shown and it is difficult to see RM turning it around. I am not sure anyone can to be honest as I don't think we have the team to do it. We have no one who can strike a ball into the net and that won't change this side of January and by then we could be so adrift that no one of any standing would even consider joining us. It is difficult to see how RM can remain in post if the board really want to have a go at staying in this division but a change will not necessarily guarantee a different outcome but not to change probably shows an acceptance of the likely outcome - albeit so early in the season.

Got to admire Bournemouth, I don't think their squad is any better than ours but they are just fitter + better organised + have a game plan. They're not great but we made them look great.

I still believe we have a squad that can survive, but we have to change the style of play , stop this obsession with playing out from the back at all cost, and not play players out of position and hugging the wings, with no end product.

Agree Grim. They are nothing special but they know how to make the best of what they have in key games and they have a go. We always appear to be afraid of our own shadows. We play with fear whereas Bournemouth and other teams like Brentford play with freedom and belief.

Well, it's going to go either one of two ways. Ramsdale to play an absolute blinder, a real corker, and show the Arsenal board why they should never have got rid of him by keeping a clean sheet via world class save after world class fookin save. or... That 9-0 record league defeat that we currently jointly hold has a real possibility of being broken this weekend in North London. It's a close call

Well given how many goals we have conceded since Ramsdale has joined you would have to say the second option is more likely. I wonder though what you would get for a bet on Saints winning at Arsenal?

Ipswich will finish 19th because they've got a good manager and great team spirit. They've got a weaker squad than ours. Bournemouth are a better quallity team. That's why they beat us easily and Ipswich didn't. It's a sobering thought that Ipswich at home was the easiest fixture we'll have all season. [Post edited 30 Sep 22:28]

Currently between 16/1 and 19/1 depending on the bookmaker. Arsenal are 11/100 > 7/50. If that does not sound bad enough, this makes it sound even worse - if someone gave you a free £100 bet on this game and you went for the best odds as it stands now, if you put it on Arsenal and they are successful you’d win £14 and if you put it on Saints and they are successful you’d win £1,900 😮 Gulp…

Behave, Bmuff's squad is miles better than ours. If the squads were combined there'd hardly be any of ours in the starting eleven.

Agreed. Sports Republic needed to spend SERIOUS money to keep us in this league. Gao got pellets at his time at the club. Sports Republic have turned us into a Championship level club and nothing is said.

Evanilson cost £31m that could rise to £40m. Archer cost £15m. That is the difference. How the hell are we in Bournemouth’s shadow?
