Live music? 09:34 - Jun 1 with 1888 views | RichardO | Any good bands seen recently that people would recommend to go and see, local or any other bands? Level 42 seen last year and they well exceeded my lower expectations, highly recommend. Saw Joe Kelly & The Royal Pharmacy at the Brecon Jazz festival, not really jazz but enjoyed them live. Blues/ Country rock didn't know anything about them.

Did catch a nod to punk in previous posts, did go and see The Buzzcocks in The Top Rank Swansea and Toyah and Sham 69 in Cardiff in a venue on the corner of the castle at the end of Queen St, The BirdCage maybe the name escapes me, venue was downstairs.

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Did you get to see them at the Neath Round Table event in Neath earlier this month? Was contemplating going but other things got in the way, Covid.

Saw The Feeling a couple of years back at the same event and they were really good as well. Wizard have played the Friday night, another enjoyable evening.
Live music? on 12:28 - Nov 29 with 914 views | Dr_Winston | Went to see Newton Faulkner at the Patti in the week. Wasn't expecting much. I liked his first album but hadn't heard much of his stuff since. What a show though. Superb live performer. The PA packed in temporarily just as he started doing one of his bigger hits, so he came to the front of the stage and started playing acoustically. After about a verse the crowd just took over from him and he just played along with a big cheesy grin on his face. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/MYUUjnVww1n93iaV/

I just don't understand how Newton Faulkner is relatively unknown, but a less talented fellow ginger guitar looping artist is has managed to sell out Wembley and headline Glastonbury.

There's no accounting for taste. I don't mind Sheeran though, or at least I don't loathe him like a lot of people do.

Live music? on 21:32 - Jan 25 with 379 views | Dr_Winston | Got tickets for Hayseed Dixie, David Gray and Reef for this year so far. Hayseed Dixie are a fun band whose covers I like. "White Ladder" is a cracking album and probably the prime contender for the one that both I and Mrs. Winston consider "ours", and Reef are one of my all time favourite bands anyway. Anyone else got stuff booked that they're looking forward to?

Few bits in the pipeline. Ocean Colour Scene in April, then Supergrass and EMF (my guilty pleasure) in May. Oasis ticket in the bag for July.

Live music? on 01:38 - Jan 30 with 72 views | Robbie | Elio Pace in The Grand later , Billy Joel Tribute Show , reviews are excellent for him . Original Billy is now charging North of 120 notes to sit in the rafters for his shows . Great artist but add on hotels , who I presume have uploaded their prices overnight for his only two shows this Summer in the UK , maybe a cheaper option will be used . Keeping an eye on Alice Cooper in cardiff , boo . Great in the Arena with Hollywood Vamps and his stand alone Alice Cooper tour .
