That's exactly my point, show me a decent politician and I will show you one who hasn't been caught. Its just when you are in power more doors open.
Angela Rayner on 10:13 - Apr 13 with 1884 views | Joesus_Of_Narbereth | She’s an X factor politician. I don’t mean she’s got the X factor, but she’s like one of those acts on the X factor who has a massive woe is me sob story so gets really far and everyone conveniently ignores the fact she can not sing or dance and has no talent whatsoever. She’s being hoist with her own petard really, she’s been gaining a lot of political capital for calling people scum for doing this sort of thing and now it transpires she’s been caught with her hand in the cookie jar too. Meanwhile we are just the creatures outside looking in and wondering which ones are the pigs. They all look like pigs.

Angela Rayner on 11:02 - Apr 13 with 1842 views | JumpingJackFlash | This week it’s Wragg and Rayner. Rayner has said she’ll stand down if guilty so she must be confident of the outcome unless her advice is wrong. If guilty she’ll pay the £1500 plus interest and resign as deputy leader. It’s more the symbolism and hypocrisy if guilty than the magnitude of the crime. Wragg betrayed Parliamentary colleagues and set them up to be potentially blackmailed in order to try to save his own skin. He deliberately broke the data protection laws after becoming involved in a sordid episode and must have thought he could get away with it. Unbelievably, two MPs sent photographs of their privates to the blackmailers. He admitted all this and Hunt called him “brave”. FFS. Why Sunak didn’t sack him immediately I can’t understand. You have to wonder about the judgement of the people who represent us in Westminster. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

What could be more brave than sending pictures of your John Thomas to strangers on the internet along with the telephone numbers of all your chums? Give him the Victoria cross.

They're all the same in politics, only difference being that many others taking things to varying degrees. At the end of the day, they're all mostly corrupt, greedy lairs and all in it for themselves. File under Vermin!

Massive hypocrisy. Not a pop about the Tory donor under investigation for dodging £500 million in tax. Zahawi forgot to pay £3 million plus in taxes, but remembered to submit his expense claims for heating his horses.

I think Sir Kier has a lot up his sleeve. He will be ready to pounce when the time is right. He is 1000 times clevdrer than Sunak. [Post edited 13 Apr 13:23]

Angela Rayner on 13:27 - Apr 13 with 1698 views | majorraglan | This story is a little unusual in that the source is an unofficial biography which was instigated/commissioned by the former treasure of the Conservative Party Lord Michael Ashcroft. There may be some truth in the allegation, but equally there may not be and it may be nothing other than a smear to gain a political advantage. If she’s dodged tax and committed a criminal offence, then in my opinion she has to go which is what she’d said she’d do. Interestingly, she’s previously indicated she’d publish her tax return if Sunak and Hunt published theirs - the story died a death for a while after that but it’s now back- do we’ll see what pans can out.

It’s very relevant if it turns out she hasn’t done anything wrong and the story has been pushed by a Tory peer who dodged a £112,000.000 of tax though non dom status. It’s very relevant if she has done something and resigns as fingers will be pointed at Tories who haven’t done the same, particularly when the sums differ so much. Of course, if she gets off the Mail will call the police ‘woke’ or something like that.

No. An offence is an offence is an offence Talk about it in degrees but the song remains the same You ,like many, hate Tories and any bad news for Labour is unpleasant to behold It’s why no Labour supporter has commented until the thread was created . It might be Rayner is simply getting what she can out of it until it goes tits up

Angela Rayner on 14:13 - Apr 13 with 1631 views | majorraglan | This is a little ironic, the “source” of the Angela Rayner story is Lord Michael Ashcroft, former very senior official in the Conservative Party and someone who holds British citizenship, Belizean citizenship and who is a belonger of the Turks and Caicos Islands. It also appears that Ashcroft’s tax affairs have been subject of scrutiny in the past. He was created a peer in 2000, and sat on the Conservative benches of the House of Lords until resigning in 2015. It appears Ashcroft was supposed to take up permanent residence in the UK for tax purposes as part of his peerage, but it was reported a decade later that he had failed to relinquish non dom status. It also appears that in his 2005 biography, Ashcroft admitted that Belize is a country where his interests have been "exempt from certain taxes for 30 years" meanwhile the Turks and Caicos don’t have income or capitol gains tax. There’s now an investigation (and quite rightly ) in to Rayners affairs over £3.5k non payment of taxes and if she’s broken to law she has to go, but Ashcroft’s tax affairs have probably saved him considerably more money that Rayner has profited by. To me, it strikes of double standards. [Post edited 13 Apr 23:58]
