The 20MPH punishments 08:34 - Aug 3 with 136590 views | SullutaCreturned | Well the punishment for breaking the limit, https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/police-confirm-how-punish-drivers- Given how many idiots are on the roads, the delivery drivers under pressure and the actual difficutly in staying below 20 (it is difficult, I do it every week when I go to Cardiff and it's harder than you'd think, specially going downhill) there will be a lot of speeding going on. The Senedd expect the fire brigade to become a road safety unit, how stupid is that? The fire brigade have their job and it's hard enough for them to do that the way the Senedd behaves. Then there's the pollution problem, all those cars tootling around in second gear will fill the streets with pollution, it'll rise and rise and the few accidents stopped by this madness will be replaced tenfold and more in the years to come by serious health issues, those with asthma can look out, better buy your respirators now. I wonder if cancers will also increase? By the time we have all gone electric, assuming we all do, thousands of lives will be blighted by illness.

Wales voted to leave the EU. It was a UK wide referendum. Democracy in action. Very silly claim to say it was the English in Wales who voted to leave. Are 52% of the population who live in Wales English. In fact the three most English regions in Wales Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan and Monmouthshire voted to remain with Cardiff having a 30,000 majority in favour of remain. Only 4 of 22 regions in Wales voted to remain. The other 18 voted to leave including all the Welsh speaking and PC regions except for Gwynedd. I do wish you would do your own research instead of cut and pasting other peoples'. Then you would not look silly so often. Mind you research showed that the tiny 7,000 majority in the 1997 Welsh Devolution referendum was due to Irish and Scottish voters living in Wales voting for Devolution. This group forced Devolution onto Wales which the Welsh people did not want. Not sure what your post has to do with 453,000 signing the petition asking Welsh Government the rescind and remove tye disastrous 20 mph Law. [Post edited 1 Oct 2023 9:44]

Yet apparently a number of Nat's claims to have the lowdown on the nationalities of those who voted to leave. I'd chuck such ludicrous claims into the same bucket as the joke polls claiming that 38% of people in Wales want independence and the spectacle of the same couple of thousand who travel around Wales attending independence marches being portrayed as a massive all Wales wide demonstration of call for Indy.

I think it was a Guardian article which is a left wing version of the Telegraph. Wales voted out end of. Some people think Wales is an all inclusive socialist paradise. It's not. Yes majority will always vote Labour because that is their core principle. Many will carry on voting Conservative because that's their core principle. Whether the current lot in Westminster are pretty dreadful or not. Let's not forget the end of the 70s, or the last Labour administration which left us in hell go a state. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The Guardian used to be my favourite newspaper until around 10 years ago when I realised it no longer reflected reality. Several of the regular columnists - Alibhai-Brown et al - seem to live on another planet. The Indy has gone the same way, I don't think there is a a single newspaper these days that gives a balanced view; you have to dip in and out of several sources and decide what seems most plausible. Actually the Telegraph isn't as bad as the Mail or Express.

Sadly journalism seems to have moved away from getting to the truth to presenting a position. As you say you have to hunt around to get both sides of a story these days.

And the services simply aren’t being used as passenger numbers, particularly those with the concessionary travel passes aren’t using the services. If you have to pay to use the bus, my experience is that they’re very expensive.

That’s not good. Did you know that 50% of local bus services in England have been cut since the Conservatives got back into power. Now that is a huge figure.

One of the main factors in costing car insurance premiums is your post code. If these claims are true that the 20mph law will make the roads safer in Wales, I await a reduction in my car insurance premium. I won't hold my breath.

Not in Senedd referendums either, the last one got a 35% turnout and on the basis of that result they insist the majority of Wales wants more powers for the Senedd and that we love them!

I meant meaningful referendums, like devolution, EU membership and changing our voting system from FPTP to proportional representation. Drakeford ignored that he gave voters to children and now proposes more Senedd members with close list to appoint them from with voters unable to select their own MS.
