Reading v Swansea City : Pre Season Friendly **Ticket Update 23:11 - Jul 26 with 9854 views | KeithHaynes | The Swans head to the SLC stadium this Saturday for a 3pm kick off against League One Reading. The third League one side to face the Swans in eight days. Here’s hoping for better fortune than we have witnessed so far with a big Swans support heading to Berkshire for this traditional Saturday kick off time. Away fans info from Reading FC. By selling the Upper West allocation to visiting clubs ahead of their allocation of South Stand seats, for most matches Club 1871 will be able to expand as it did for our final home fixture of the season against Wigan – migrating a little towards the area directly behind the South Stand goal thanks to a reduced level of segregation netting. That also means that for most cup matches, with an increase in availabile allocation for away fans, Club 1871 will not need to move. However, for any highest demand cup games at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, the away allocation will still require Club 1871 supporters to move. Away fans will also be located further away from the pitch, giving us more opportunity to capitalise on home advantage given to us by our vocal supporters behind the goal. Swansea City supporters can pay on the day for Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Reading (3pm). Advance tickets are no longer on sale for the Select Car Leasing Stadium fixture, but supporters can purchase from the South Stand Ticket Office - situated between Gates 9 and 10 - which will be open from 1.30pm. Please note all matchday purchases will need to be by card only as the Select Car Leasing Stadium is a cashless venue. Alternatively, Swans supporters can book tickets over the phone by ringing the Reading sales team on 0118 968 1313 and selecting option 1. This service will be available between 10am and 1pm. Matchday prices are as follows: Adults - £15 Over-65s - £8 Ages 18 to 24 - £8 Under-18s - £8 Under-13s - £8

Reading v Swansea City : Pre Season Friendly **Ticket Update on 17:20 - Jul 29 by guthrieintherain | Didn't watch it but a strong side put out there get a couple in next week early hopefully so they can have 3 or 4 days training. The 2 from Piroe today will not have gone unnoticed scouts bound to be there. Really hope he goes soon no doubting his talent but we can't afford a £15m.pound loan. Could get 2 or 3 quality signings and have half left over. And the squad lacks depth. Just hope sides don't leave it to the last day and we end up panic buying the dreggs. Coventry fell lucky with Gorkeres and Piroe is of similar quality so fingers crossed. Still feeling optomistic for the season ahead but also apprehensive. [Post edited 29 Jul 2023 17:31]

I feel exactly the same Guthrie. No matter how much we need piroe, we have to sell him in August, as you say his fee will get 2/3 decent championship players. The question is if we do sell will the board release any funds.

They won't release it all but can see them spending another 2 or 3 million if he stays 5 or 6 if he goes. You don't have to spend a fortune to do reasonably well in this league as Luton and Huddersfield have shown recently But you do need to box clever and Watson is just the man for that. Reading v Swansea City : Pre Season Friendly **Ticket Update on 18:17 - Jul 29 with 1553 views | SullutaCreturned | My ten penneth worth is, a better performance and some goals with a clean sheet is obviously better but I still wouldn't get carried away. Duff is still llooking at the squad to see what he needs. Piroe starting is probably a bit of the shop window but also keeping him sharp in case no one meets our price. As much as we know he will be sold if the price is met, what if nobody makes a serious bid? What if they are waiting til january when the pryice plummets? if we start the season with Piroe we'll just need to make the best of it. it would be better if someone gave us 15 million this week though, as long as Duff go 6-7 to strengthen the squad. To be honest for the first month of the season, if the football wasn't great but the workrate is there I think I'll be happy. Duff can fine tune as the season goes and hopefully we'd be able to look at 2-3 more signings in january too.

Reading v Swansea City : Pre Season Friendly **Ticket Update on 11:13 - Jul 30 with 827 views | RichardO | Old cliques You can only play what's in front of you. and There are only 11 players in the pitch. Surely both must apply to trying to get us ready for the new season. We all know we need some cover and new blood in the squad. But the manager needs to see what works with the players we have, and the formation that work and I don't mean 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 3 at the back, I mean ones that counter the threat, be it pacey wingers, lumps of cenrefowards or tricky ball players being able to adapt to the opposition while ensuring we secure and maintain any advantage we gain. Play the wrong tactics that our player are unable to do, no matter how good individual player are, we will suffer and give away sloopy needless goal.

I an a firm believer in momentum and eras. Swansea are now on the lee slope of the greatest era on the club s history. A 20 year cycle. The 7 years in the Premier league. It was based on a fixed philosophy. It worked then works now, and will work in the future. A possession based brand of football where pass accuracy is vital. It is based on playing in a way where the opposition are destructive and concerned about you and you are not concerned bout them. Having watch the nobodies of Armenia thrash Cymru with their £20m-£50m stars I am more cnvinced than ever that coaching and philosophy are vital.
