Rhys Williams 18:33 - Jul 19 with 5205 views | KeithHaynes | Liverpool defender Rhys Williams has joined Blackpool on a season-long loan deal. The 21-year old centre back wanted to be sure about his move as it is important he gains regular competitive football after a difficult loan spell at Swansea City last season. Blackpool manager Michael Appleton has convinced the 6ft 5ins defender to join the Seasiders as he looks to push for promotion

10 games? Hasn’t he had like 50+ already? Or do you mean ANOTHER 10?

If he cannot handle Luton, Bulgaria and Hungary would be way too much 50 -100 morons instead of one moron. Like the Welsh the Hungarians see pseudo filth as banter. Time to stop pretending and dancing to the Saxon pipers. Not so nice when you are on your own like the darts payer Gerwyn who like me calls it out.

Yep,under pressure with a hapless goalkeeper behind, but told to pass it to a team mate who would have several opposing players on him. I cannot believe what I am reading here .

It was rhetorical. Do you know any other manager that has been given 60 games grace?

If I remember correctly Alex Ferguson had a very slow start at Manchester United.

Yes I always enjoy that one that people trot out. It’s never remotely similar though. They were second from bottom when he took over and steered them to 11th in his first season. He improved the position of the club markedly from the one he inherited and they still nearly sacked him.

I just answered the question you asked, there was no mention of similarities or comparisons, it just shows that some managers need time.

Not this old chestnut sagain..... Lets not forget Fregie arrived at Man U with a apedigree of European cuo Winners Cup, winning the Scottish title with Aberdeen Previously having taken St Mirren form the Scottish second diviision to 1st division title winners In his first season at Utd he took the club from 21st to 11th in the league having arrived in the Novemeber and he had no preseason. This comparsion is flawed Russell Martin arrived here after finishing 13th in Div 1 In his first season here we finished 15th 11 places below where we finsihed last season Chalk and cheese.....I will give Martin 10 games this season but this is why I end up posting when comparisons such as these are msde.

No comparisons. The question was asked I answered it. It was a straight forward question and a straight forward answer. If the question was about similarities the answer would be different.

Dear God. That again. So Martin is being compared with Fergie with no record of success at all. Somebody explain Fergie and the job he did at Aberdeen . This is now surreal. I actually think Martin has his fingers on this site It’s not comfortable

Time for what? Fergie essentially took them from bottom of the league to mid table in less than a season. My question was who has been given 60 games grace of mediocrity. Ferguson doesn’t come under that bracket.

Yep it was. Martin has taken us from a club that finished 4th to one that is 15th. It’s mediocrity, hence people said give him 10 games, then 20 games, then half a season, then a full season, then 4 windows etc etc This latest one seems to be 60 games. So my question was based on that mediocrity. Who else has been given 60 games of such declining performances? Certainly not Fergie who took his side from bottom but one to eleventh… anyone else?
