Oldham game on 17:49 - Sep 6 with 7589 views | EllDale | Seems to be a popular pastime. I see that Bury have had to issue a statement condemning a pitch invasion during their game last Saturday. For totally different reasons of course. With regards to your original question I think the number of invasions may be in proportion to the number of goals conceded. I’m worried that we could see the game abandoned if the stewards don’t up their game dramatically from the last couple of home matches.
Oldham game on 18:32 - Sep 6 with 7482 views | Sandyman | Disturbingly, there has been issue with an alleged attack on an Oldham fan by Taurus Security staff, who also happen to staff our games. The forthcoming derby looks fraught with security issues given their increasingly intense (and understandable) dispute with the current OAFC owners. I personally think the security Bill Stewards/Gmp etc. Will cost more than their following would generate? Even without Current Issues they are known for their antics when they come to COA.So I Dont know what the answer is to prevent any issues.

Oldham game on 22:44 - Sep 6 with 6942 views | ThreeLions | The upcoming game is becoming potentially a tinder box ready to catch fire due to the latest revelations about the security firm that also supplies Spotland. Crowd trouble could very much be the main headline from the fixture as we all know the biffos like to make a scene when they travel to the Dale. I have the upmost sympathy with their supporters in the fight to save the club but this could potentially impact our own fight by taking away much needed money through fines and extra policing. Like mentioned above in another post there is no quick fix solution to this. [Post edited 6 Sep 2021 22:45]

Don't forget about our own Pearl Street problem. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the game to be honest.

Oldham game on 23:18 - Sep 6 with 6865 views | _Windydale | Makes me shudder to think at some point, we could have been in the same situation. Having a guy no one wants as owner, who refuses to leave until he has his investment back. The owner released a statement today trying to disperse the anger with a load of fluff, and bluster to try to stay anchored in position. Another Steve Dale, another Bloke with money wanting to fuk around with a community hub.

I am sure both clubs know some of the issues. But we can do without the 1980s resurrection for a day. Can we employ snippers stationed on the floodlight towers so we really do become Fortress Spotland? Or have a couple of Rottweilers in attendance? .......

Oldham game on 09:03 - Sep 7 with 6533 views | rafc1977 | I'd like to think we can show a little solidarity/support to our neighbours, but for the grace of god the wolfs threatening to blow our house down only got to the huff and puff stage. As with Bury and countless others, the wolf is in the house at Boundary Park and causing havoc. I will cheer every goal v Oldham (I do hope we score many) but I will be mindful this is also a club on the brink, fans facing their worst fears as we only to recently were ourselves. R17ALE posted on one of the many takeover threads that at one point he had reached out to people at Bury but the advice was ignored, more fool them as Franny along with numerous others in our supporter base have time and again shown there worth when it comes to things like that. Can we extend an olive branch to Oldham's supporters trust? Maybe if we show a little solidarity their trust could email its database asking for any demonstrations to remain in the stands and not on the pitch? Im not naive enough to think this stops the kids or drunken fools on the day (every club has them) but maybe it limits the disruption and they semi police themselves? I know a few Oldham fans, like most of us will do given the geography of our clubs. The ones I know hope that our game isnt affected by pitch invasions, and fear if they are it makes us less sympathetic to their plight rather than supportive.

If you read their forum there is already talk of getting the game abandoned through pitch invasions. This will impact our club through fines which we simply cannot afford at the moment. It could mean the signing of a player has to be discounted in January through the actions of supporters of a rival club. I have every sympathy for their plight but not at the expense of my club.

Based on that information it might pay in the long run to have a police presence in the ground.

There is also talk of us only giving them 1600 tickets. I can see this game being all ticket to try and prevent away supporters coming into the home ends especially after the trouble of a few seasons ago in the Pearl Street end.

Limiting the capacity in the Willbutts to around 50/60% would surely make sense Have the front rows of the stand completely clear with sufficient stewarding and a police presence along the front to nip any signs of pitch encroachment before they get anywhere near I appreciate if say, 1000 drunken Biffos all charge at once that would be incredibly difficult, but we must have as proactive a stance as possible, to at least demonstrate we've taken measures which we'd be rightly criticised for failing to do so I'd hope there's already been communication between Murray Knight and his fellow board members on this - without giving away any details

Oldham game on 12:33 - Sep 7 with 6071 views | 49thseason | I presume we have already warned the EFL about the possible pitch invasion and who knows what else by visiting fans. It would be helpful if they could send an official observer. Indeed, a prudent BOD might approach the EFL with a request not to sell tickets to away fans in this instance. There is a clear and present threat from Oldham fans to the safety of players and other people in the ground and it cannot be reasonable that Rochdale be forced to pay the cost of preventing such deliberate and illegal behaviour.
Oldham game on 12:36 - Sep 7 with 6058 views | mikehunt | Seems like we need to weigh up the cost of any fines and policing against the money made from Biffo ticket sales. If this is not profitable then, unfortunately, we would have to ban their supporters from our ground. Some clubs did this to Luton fans a number of years ago, I seem to recall.

Wasn't it the other way round and Luton banned away fans?

Good point. If the intention is already out there on the t'internet it is in the public domain, and can be used as evidence in the club's defence should the threatened pitch invasion or other disruption come to pass, and fines start being discussed. The fact that a section of biffos has already performed the same stunt previously will also help, albeit on their own ground - it was still trespass whichever ground it was. Of course there is always the counter-charge that Dale should have been alert to it, and planned accordingly.

Aren't we already All Ticket? But I know what you mean. I can see us only selling our tickets to people on our database. And restricting the biffos to only selling tickets to their Season Ticket holders. That way everybody in the ground can be identified (sort of) And a 12 noon kick off? I can see all of that happening and a large police bill to boot.
