I think you will find that the point that was being made was in reference to the Old Firm apparently playing in a ‘ pub league ‘ . However now that you mention Man City in passing , you will of course be aware that the last time Celtic met with them in the Champions league group stages in 2016 , they gained credible draws both home and away scoring 4 times in the process .
