Holding midfielder. Neat and tidy, technically capable. Bit of height to him but not much of a physical presence. Very stroppy when things aren't going the team's way. Doesn't offer much in terms of creativity or defensive ability. He's alright, but Ajax rarely let good players go at the age he left them.
Wouldn't have him in a team over Jack Evans for a midfield role unless we maybe wanted to avoid cup-tying certain players (like Harries and Asoro) ahead of loans to League One/Two sides. But then against Notts County Adnan Maric got the nod over George Byers so strange things do happen in these games. Managers and staff all have their preferences, biases and agendas, especially when big money has been spent to bring players over. | | | |
