Oxford Away 13:08 - Nov 27 with 37489 viewsboromat

It seems the forum has gone a bit quiet on this one with the excitement of the FA Cup approaching. How we all feeling about it?

Think their home form is pretty good at the minute and it's a bit of a commute on what promises to be a cold, wet Tuesday night. Surely it's got all the makings of a scrappy 1 nil away win? :-)

Poll: What are we more excited for?

Oxford away is a hard fixture for us historically anyway - never mind on a Tuesday night - then throw in starting Randall,McNulty and Wilbraham who have hardly kicked a ball all season! Crazy

Strange that, because i thought you’d been abducted when you didn’t post after our win on saturday. Least you’ve got to have your erection after going 2-0 down tonight.

That's changes for you.....Hill has has his hand forced to sub Randall before half time because of a yellow......Alby too on a booking........are they not up to speed?

If so,why are they starting?

An abysmal first half, in truth. We’re lucky Hendo was alive to Camps’s spilled free kick.

The fact we’ve reverted to a back four shows already that Hill has got this one wrong. It will take another revolution tactically in the second half to get anything from this game.

Let’s hope we see that.

Randall wasn't subbed because he'd been booked.

Would Calvin for Wilbraham be too much of an obvious change to make an impact?

Well, he's made the change. That's what matters now.

We struggle at the weekend without a big man up front. Calvin comes on and makes a difference. Tonight we decide to start with a big man up front. OBVIOUSLY CALVIN, BUT WAIT - NO ITS WILBRAHAM ????

I thought his injury was season ending when it happened - was it broken cheekbone in the bury game? Glad he's recovered but even so - to play absolutely no games or even be sub and start tonight is an unbelievable decision.

I’m watching this and Wilbraham just doesn’t cut it up front - piss poor touch, can’t win headers and not providing any goal threat. Any change at half time involving his substitution is a positive move.

A woeful first half, lucky to be only one behind. Defensively all over the place, we lose every set piece into the box and they look likely to score more.

Reverted to a 433 formation but with Wilbraham the spearhead, we lack any threat other than Hendo foraging on scraps. The first touch of some of the players is incredibly poor, this is a basic requirement of any player but Rathbone and Wilbraham have the uncanny ability to trap it 10 yards without fail.

Wilbraham is lucky to be on the field. Dreadful tackle on their lad, could easily have been a red card.

It would help but, again, Andrew should have been on from the start if Hill wanted to play this way.

Can only assume Andrew isn’t 100% as nothing else makes sense.

No - but I can see massive mistakes with tonight's starting X1 - let's hope the interviewer has the balls to ask Keith the question - regardless of how the 2nd half goes. 2 nil down so early in the game is usually a big indication that it's wrong.

My last game was at Wycombe and it's been marginally more positive than that, but not much. Oxford aren't great but look dangerous every time they go forward and (it goes without saying) from set-pieces. Hendo's goal has given us a sniff at least, would bring Calvin on for Alby (who's been shite) at half time. Thought Randall was a tad unlucky to be yanked, he was having a half decent game. Adshead looks lightweight, not sure he's ready for a regular place yet. Don't want to sound so negative about a game we're still in but it really hasn't been good. To be fair, when I heard all the changes before kickoff I wasn't expecting it to be.

Apparently the home fans at Old Trafford are very quiet after another lacklustre performance. So that's 2 grounds where it happens. Fascinating....

You're obviously not buying into Hill philosophy you just don't get it.

This is not the time for bickering.
