Can anyone else remember an away day at the Racecourse where they made us take our Doc Martens off for the duration of the game....it was pretty bizarre....can't remember the year but early eighties...
I was directly behind the goal where Dixie McNeil scored their late winner in Dec '79.
I remember the home game in 81 the North Bank singing to Dai Davies what's it like to have no teeth and he was conducting the crowd. The other game I remember was the 87.88 season I think we won 2.1 up there and Wales beat Ireland to clinch the Triple Crown the same day. Always had a soft spot for Wrexham and Newport.
The '8o match was my first ever away game Remember a collection for Jonny Owen being passed around the ground. Also,I'm sure one of my mates saying something recently about footwear being removed by the police! I'll check when I see him next.
