Question for you, or anybody reading this that may know the answer, when a player picks up a long-term injury like Bony would the wages be covered in part or in full by the club’s insurance?

This isn’t leading anywhere I’m just curious.

I asked this question ages ago and no one answered me then. If his wages are still being paid by insurance, I don't get the big song and dance about how much he is getting paid. If insurance is covering his wages, at what point in his recovery do the club/insurance company say that he is no longer injured? The week before etc?
What I really can't believe, though, is that the director of football still has a job if we paid that amount of money for him on a short two year contract.

I may well be wrong, but I've always been of the belief that insurance covers a career ending injury, whereby 1/ The club is compensated for the value of the player, or/and 2/ The players own insurance pays out the value of his contract.
Whilst a player is simply 'injured' for however long a period the club pay his wage. i surely cannot be far off here as the risk to insurance companies to pay wages to players who are injured would be far too high risk, and the premiums would be to big for the club to pay. As i said, i'm certainly not spot on, but common sense says i ain't far off. Ie: Bony is costing the club a fvckin fortune every week.

I know what you are saying but it is what has been printed.

No disrespect intended, but we didn't pay £13M for your nan.

But we did pay roughly the same for Clucas.

Doubt we will see Bony or Narsingh play. As soon as Bony is fit he will complete on the option he already has in place regards a loan. Turkey or China is my guess. I dont know the facts and not seen his contract. Bony has been some player though and you never know maybe last half of the season. Wages would have to be covered by sales in January. The sales of Narsingh Routs and Dyer which could partly cover the diff between injury insurance and full wages. Depends on if we are in the running come Jan. My bet is he will go as well as a few others.

Without going in to research mode, it has been printed somewhere that clubs pay insurance in case players have long term injuries which then pay or part cover wages. This was the question I was asking ages ago as I wanted it confirmed but no one replied.

Lifted from JT, insurance specialists:

" 'As wages escalate in the top division - partly thanks to the injection of cash into the league from new TV deals - so too does the cost to clubs of injury absences.

'In the 2013-14 season alone, almost £130m was paid out to players who were unable to take to the field due to fitness issues.

'As a result, clubs are increasingly looking to insure their players so that, if they get injured for a prolonged period of time, they can claim a certain percentage of their large salary paid back.

'Depending on the circumstances, this could be up to half of the total injury bill.'"

Question; If Bony is put up for sale in the Jan window, how much would somebody pay for him?
If you were the manager of another team, would you go in for him or look somewhere else?

You’ll have some desperate clubs in Jan. We paid £13m for him and he’d hardly kicked a ball in 3 years. Don’t think we’d get much of a fee but clubs around relegation zone may pay large chunk of his wages.

He would go for free I’d imagine. Big wages, only contracted until the end of the season.

It would take some balls to sign him if he wants anything near the kind of wage he’s on now. Someone probably will though

Where the hell would you find club with a dullard of a dof that would pay £13 million for a player that had hardly kicked a ball for 3 years ?

I doubt anyone would be willing to take him on unless he is on a free and is willing to take about £10k a week and that is being generous.
A pay as you play deal, maybe.

As long as she's a goalie beaky would sign her.

If she was a keeper shagger probably wouldn't go near.

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

We won’t get a fee now.

If we are in contention, would it be a worth risk keeping him on for his last 6 months? I think so personally.
