Match Thread, QPR v Derby 11:56 - Mar 6 with 19202 views | RangersDave | Thought i’d start this as i’m Now slowly getting my head together. I’ll say 3-1 to the Rangers, with ?Derby scoring in the last few minutes of the first half, and Ollie changing the team around from a containing one to an all out ball busting, go get em one. I also predict mr ‘fecking plankers ’ will be sitting there, arms crossed at the end of the match, having seen his team screw up automatic promotion yet again.

Absolutely, but, again, our midgield were culpable too. He waltzed through at least tw midfielders first.

Wow. Hammering them in every statistic except shots on target. We have 0, they have 1. And goals, naturally. Very positive crowd, though, it feels? Probably the real die-hards there tonight.

Match Thread, QPR v Derby on 20:42 - Mar 6 with 1688 views | simmo | Just for those not at the game, we're playing well. V direct and unfortunately lacking end product but otherwise in control. Switch to 433 so much better with players aware of their responsibilities and Furlong and Smyth doing great on the right. Unlucky with their goal from a piece of Chelscum loanee quality, otherwise happy enough. [Post edited 6 Mar 2018 20:46]

The ball has barely been in that part of the pitch though to be fair, pretty much everything has come through our play down our right, with Freeman picking up second balls in midfield. Strange half really, we've been totally on top with Derby offering very little. Then they scored an impressive looking goal that should really have been stopped by any one of four players. I know it's old, but as much as I like Smith the Elder, I do wonder how this 433 would look with Sylla in the middle up top.

Ah, 2T2B my man, change the record, please. The goal we conceded could be laid at the feet of any of five players, none of them Washington. If any of them showed his workrate we'd have a clean sheet. At the other end of the pitch we've been wasteful as a unit with everyone taking their chance to miss the goal. We know Washington isn't Pele but his attitude is class so the way he's been made the scapegoat this year is unfair on him and misses the broader picture. To mention him at half-time today comments on only one aspect of ore performance.

Match Thread, QPR v Derby on 20:45 - Mar 6 with 1619 views | FDC | Another notable thing: with Furlong starying we have absolute bombs from throw-ins from both sides of the pitch. Ned's miss came from a Furlong throw, and I think Smith had a good opportunity from a Robbo throw (but my memory doesn't go back more than 15 mins so may have that wrong).

He thinks we should go 4-3-3 -Olly Murs agreed, said our pitch was perfect for it. Sir Tom Jones sat on the bench and Bryan Cranston was looking after the half time refreshments. Meanwhile at HQ I see they have their goal so 5 for us this half.

Match Thread, QPR v Derby on 20:49 - Mar 6 with 1520 views | simmo | For the record, the goal nothing to do with Wash, but he's been a waste of a shirt again out on the left. So basic and offers little to nothing going either way. A meaningful left sided attacker would be most welcome

I actually agree with that, he's not a left-winger or left inside-forward. Who would you, and you as well 2T2B, have played there tonight in his place? Genuine question, that.

Match Thread, QPR v Derby on 20:53 - Mar 6 with 1430 views | FDC | Good example there of how, whilst Bidwell is undoubtedly a solid 6/10 defender he has very little attacking awareness -- which is partly why Connor hasn't seen anything of the ball so far. [Post edited 6 Mar 2018 20:54]

Ya, but we're not playing 442... Meanwhile, is there a slight change in tactics? Wsahington has had two shooting opportunities both from just outside the box and only slightly to the left. He's been tucking in and Bidwell has been further forward and wider.

No natural choice, I would have been inclined to put Freeman there and Eze as a number 10, or maybe Osayi-Samuel on the left. Wash could have worked but tonight he's been a waste of a man So far.... [Post edited 6 Mar 2018 21:00]
