It's February going into March and it will soon be time for elections to the Trust Board once again.
I think it's fair to say the public perception of the Trust is probably at its lowest at this very moment in time with a string, of what looks like from the outside, calamitous failures over the last few years.
So what have we all done about this? It's fair to say we've done our fair share of moaning, on here in particular, but if we want change, what can we really do to effectthis.
There was hope with new faces joining the Trust Board that there would be some noticeable differences by now, but sadly, at least so far, that's far from the reality.
We all know Cudey and Lisa are good sorts and fair people. We thank them fully for stepping up and we know they'd offer something tangible and beneficial to the organisation.
But, is this enough? They've not been able to do anything about the latest farce the Trust has got itself into and from their careful posts on here they also seem too keen not to upset anyone over perhaps standing up and telling it like it is.
The majority rules mantra they've adopted isn't 'conducive to a fair and open Trust Board that we know are acting in our ibest nterests, as Chad pointed out earlier. The hard core of Trust people who should not be anywhere near the place due to the ridiculous amount of time already served, have got the place sewn up.
This needs to change. This needs to change right now.
These people are NOT the Trust, we all are, what every single Swans fan.
I implore the new Board members to make this stand right now and act decisively. It's time

Ha, now you’re seeing things that aren’t there.
Speaking of which during a 16 hour stint in Morriston casualty with DH last month, did I reach a point of hallucination when I thought I saw said venerated (not to be confused with venal) Trust Chair staring back at me from the far right of the large wall mural?
Very surreal, could see no sign of the rest of the Trust Board or Wally

This. Surely the first thing to do is get as many people to join the Trust as possible so that we can get change. The SCSA has been ridiculed on here by some - but they are the best hope we have of getting the message out that the Trust needs fresh blood. It's pretty obvious that the current Chairman doesn't see expanding membership as a priority. Setting up a Facebook page only for members FFS.
This was discussed many times during my time in charge and always discounted. I am more than happy to agree that the view on here is not always representative for example of the fanbase as a whole but similarly then there are times when it absolutely is and should not be departmentalised between members and non members at that point.

Well here's my first step to reform the trust. Hand a leaflet offering free membership to every one of the 18000 home fans inside the Liberty at the West ham game if they send their email address to the Trust website (don't bother with Jenko unless he asks..).
(Better still, if legal under GDPR, demand a list of season ticket holders and their e-mail addresses).
Now you have a real audience - forever - that can provide real leverage. Then start communicating with them. Properly. Weekly.
Here's my second step. Get the legal action started. If the Trust ends up outside pissing in, doesn't matter. Keep communicating with your new massive membership and use press leverage. My God, the Trust could be the most powerful fans exocet ever seen in football here.
Or..Lewis and MacDonald. Private facebook group for a few hundred people? Jesus Christ. Just get OUT.

Yep.
Free membership on the spot is the way forward.
The Trust needs to be reformed and re energised with a new influx of members.
This can never be achieved through the old methods of sending out begging letters periodically.
People should be signed on the spot...and free.
Would be all good.

This is exactly why I started this "pointless" thread as some Dick called it.
This is what we need here. Ideas to revolutionise the Trust and make it a force to be reckoned with. We shouldn't need the supporters group for this and had the Trust been doing its job properly they wouldn't have sprung out of the woodwork in the first place.
The time will come when we'll see the back of the dinosaurs on the Trust Board and the time WILL come when we see it grow and matter.

It’s pointiess because people don’t care Chum. Give them free membership but the majority still won’t care. The majority only care about staying in the Prem and have no interest in anything else.

I wouldn't care if the likes of Alan and Mute Stu were left in charge.

By then it could be too late I'm afraid.
SCFC may have been ass raped and asset stripped in the meantime.

I am more than happy to agree that the view on here is not always representative for example of the fanbase as a whole but similarly then there are times when it absolutely is and should not be departmentalised between members and non members at that point.
There were certainly a number of discussions around whether a smaller, more committed (i.e. paying) Trust membership was better than a larger but predominantly passive (free) one. There are certainly arguments on both sides but my view, during my time on the Board, was that, in either case, numbers had to be maximised, purely on the basis that, as our shareholding reduced (whether due to sale, dilution, legal action) then our need to be able to present ourselves as a genuine "voice of the supporters" would increase.
I circulated some suggestions last May as to how this might be achieved, preferably before the vote on the share sale. Unfortunately - and accepting that there were other things going on around that time, such as the sale itself, which took priority - it wasn't until membership numbers reduced significantly in the summer that anything was done, by which time that particular horse was several fields away.

Why does it seem like there's a reluctance to grow member support? It seems the older lot on the Trust Board just don't see increasing numbers as a priority, hence the pathetic thought process behind starting a Facebook page for members only.
It seems some on there are so out of touch, to use your horse analogy, they'd be shot by now.

This seems to be the only actual proposal in the Saviour's 1 point plan; get rid of majority voting.
What is to replace this time honoured expression of representative democracy? Commandments issued from on high?
