A win is always good but watching us is like watching paint dry at the moment. 17:11 - Oct 14 with 13347 viewsskacrazy

Would love to see some edge of the seat football but with the squad we have I can't see it getting any better. Every game seems to be a real struggle for both the players and fans.

One shot on target in the 1st half emphasises our predicament, yes its great to get a result, but today was still papering over cracks, so to speak.

Huh? We had two shots on target in the first 15 minutes and we scored in the first half. We created enough good chances to get five today.

That’s not to say I’m exactly dancing a jig, as Hudds are not a premier league standard team, not by a country mile, but a win was extraordinarily important to build belief. So yeah I’m happy in a relieved sense. Not winning after seeing their standard, was unthinkable.

The belief thing is important.

It was noticeable after the second went in that a bit of swagger returned to our play, with a few backheels and such making an appearance. Half the time we seem terrified to try anything other than the mundane so that was pleasing to see.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

We arn't the Swans people like to enjoy watching, it has been eroded away completely over the last 3 yrs, what we have now is just an identikit lower level premier league team that just exsists and hopes to stay in the premier league every season, as we slowly morph into Wigan, Sunderland and Villa it all gets a little bit more meh.

What was once an adventure is now just a grind, the one thing that allowed us to be proud was our style of play, it enabled us out Arsenal Arsenal ! it allowed us to be one of the best in Europe in keeping the ball, it made us every neutral fans second team, it's then understandable that what we see nowadays slightly dissapoints.

Can't blame the players, can't really blame the coach either, clement is doing what he knows, if Huw wanted a proper footballing man to come in he would have got one, what he wanted was a safe bet, someone that would be organised and keep us up to collect the next multimillion pound TV cheque .

Best thing is to try and forget what we were and accept what we are, it grinds but we will never play football like we did under Martinez,Sousa(at times),Rodgers and Laudrup under the current regime .
The Swansea way is dead and has been for a while.

It says everything for me that Leon Britton is still one of our best players, it's not that he's improved with age it's that our team and quality has stood still, or gone backwards, thank fook we still have him though ! was immense today.

This is the best summary of our last 2/3 years that I've read.

its massive

Tammy's self-belief is infectious - his exuberance is clearly spilling over - Ayew and Narsingh esp today were milking it and thriving off it in spades

The Swansea Way died when cocknose emailed Laudrup his P45 and appointed Garry Fûcking Monk.

Some of us said as much at the time...

Close. but i'd say it was when Huw OBE, fell out with Tutmulu. The guy who brought in the best players we have ever had for peanuts!

The term “The Swansea Way” is an utter nonsense.

One Hundred and Five years this club has been going and we played it for about five.

It’s similar to calling West Ham the Academy Of Football, more utter nonsense.
When you read this you can see how pathetic grown men (Warwick) sound.

maybe Im wrong - but pretty sure u dont have the heritage to make such a claim

those of us that were brought up to play in the swansea way will testify that possession-based build up play is the mantra - inculcated in the schoolboys set-up time immemorial

Well I was certainly bored by the passing from side to side with no intent in the midfield for much of the second half. As were many around me.

As others have said, the result was the big thing yesterday and may help us regain belief. However, I don't really agree with the view that the confidence flowed in the second half. My sense was that we took our foot off the gas an sat back too much with about 25 minutes to go. Huddersfield got some traction down the wings and came very close with the deflected shot that clipped the bar. A confident Swans would have pushed on and got a third against a poor team. Still a very good outcome mind, and signs that things are improving.

Psycho killer put in an error laden performance but he was everywhere and has a mentality that puts the blade into the opposition and on balance kept us moving and put un some quality forward passes. If he can get his head up he is a world beater.
