Actually, although I'm more the patient type and am certain Cousins will be a very, very good player for us and I think Luongo gets unfair stick, if the money worked I genuinely think Adam would be a decent fit.

He's great on the ball I know, and in this league more than most, set pieces of his quality are worth 10 points on their own. I just lose track of what it is we're meant to be doing as a club if we end up back counting out the used fivers for 31 year olds from the Premiership.

That said, in terms of dead ball skills *and* planet-sized waistline, he's probably the closest thing we could get to Taraabt now, and as a short term morale booster/trip down memory lane and with no one else able to take a functional corner kick, there's a logic there I suppose.

Well, and also, in every team there is *some* room for some proper experience. As much as I loved and still love Warnock, he built teams for now, not for the future. Our title winning team, Adel and Walker apart, was stuffed with experienced pros - a team that would fight in the Prem but would need augmenting extremely quickly and well - which, unfortunately, everyone got wrong (a very tough job to get right though, which few acknowledge).

Right now, we could field a team something like this:

Smithies
Furlong Hall Lynch Bidwell
Cousins Borysiuk Luongo
Wzsolek Sylla Shodipo

Within that, you have a young average age, and really only 2 players with seasoned experienced in this league. Within that, I think you could easily have a place for someone like Adam - never quick anyway, not exactly old, with grit, leadership and also plenty of skill and ability. Would really help Cousins and Luongo too.

Bare bones.

There's more to the Polter situation than meets the eye IMO.

Anyway, looks like another six in six out window. Same again in the summer. Sack Holloway around November. New manager inherits squad of players signed under six different bosses. Twas ever thus.

From what I heard Monday, you may be right Clive.
If true, it will be very hard to offload him anytime soon.

I hope for his sake it's all bollo and being homesick, or just a sicknote, is the only issue.

Tomlin is a similar size to Adam and was Bristols best player against us! I agree with Antti that although it's easy to ridicule, I think he's still got a lot to offer the Championship. He's not that old and he's still got a great left foot. Doesn't play as much for Stoke but then there's a few that get reguarly rotated out of that team but always do well when they come back in, he's one of them. He'd also be the best set piece taker in the league, which is important for a team that's not prolific from open play.

Anyway I don't think it's more than conjecture atm so not much point discussing but yeah, as per Danny, we don;t want too many 'ex-prem' 30+ merchants rocking up again, there needs to be a lot of justification for buying someone with little to no sell on value.

ask Beavis I get nothing Butthead

I don't see how he would fit into our wage structure though, or any experienced prem player

This is beginning to annoy me too. Why won't someone just say what they apparently "know" is going on?!

It does sound like there's been a falling out. But I don't understand/can think of why! Polter is exactly the sort of player you'd think Holloway would like. He's very similar to Mackie in many ways, albeit slightly slower but with better hold up skills (due to the large arse). Both bark, run, give it their all, pester defenders, do great things one moment, look amateur the next, etc.

It's been said, he threw a strop when he was told he wasn't starting at Brighton then made an excuse not to play recently because his family were visiting from Germany.

Just seen on SSN's and a very excited Darmesh that a bid of £3million for Polts from Hertha Berlin is under consideration.

Chery £4mill "accepted and personal terms done" from China.... flying out to sign I think he said

Sandra medical completed (again he didn't say passed)

If the medical is completed that must mean they've found two knees, which isn't a bad start.
