Swansea City join race to sign Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew 08:15 - Aug 10 with 10854 views | eddie71 | Swansea City have joined the race to sign Ghana star Jordan Ayew from Aston Villa, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal. This comes just two days after his elder brother Andre left the Welsh side to join West Ham United in a club record transfer. With their father Abedi Pele, the Ghanaian football legend being their agent, Swansea City have started enquiries about signing Jordan from Villa, sources close to the deal have told Ghana's leading football news outfit. Swansea used the opportunity during the negotiations over Jordan to start their contacts with agents over the move to South Wales by Jordan. The striker is wanted by German side Hamburg as well as West Ham and Sunderland. With Andre's wonderful experience at the Welsh side, the Swans are hopeful to convincing Jordan before the end of the month when the transfer window closes. http://ghanasoccernet.com/exclusive-swansea-city-join-race-to-sign-aston-villa-s

Agreed. The only void in the squad once Baston is over the line is at CB. Signing an additional attacking player (like Chadli) would be to upgrade a winger rather than fill a gap in the squad.

I could see logic in bringing in a goal scoring winger, particularly one who could cover Gylfi, 2 quality strikers and a youth prospect should be enough. We brought Paloschi in because the others weren't good enough, not because we needed a third striker

When we don't have Gylfi I don't think we'll play with anyone in his position, it'll be a flat three midfield with the wingers encouraged to push on. We might even play Gylfi deeper in one of those roles this season. So with Fer & Ki in the squad I think he's adequately covered. But a quality winger would definitely improve the squad.

We need 4 CBs. 3 isn't enough cover especially with the lack of experience. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
